I thought they had an obligation to buy him?
I can't see him being wanted by us anyway, would be surprised if he's even with us for pre-season.

Any idea how much they'd have to pay for him under the loan deal?

I thought he was a very good footballer and would fit in BBM's system very well.
Time will tell.

Remember him being brilliant against Swansea on his debut but after that looked weak physically

Dusseldorf are in real danger of being relegated to the third tier so probably won't sign him unless it's an obligation to buy.

Please no. The championship was too tough for him. Sign a bruiser who's a monster in both boxes. We have waves of the more technical centre backs.

I think there is a player there that would develop well under BBM. Needs pre season for BBM to assess him

Was it a wage issue or did BBM not fancy him? As far as a bruiser center half goes I don't see BBM going for that he wants everyone including the keeper to be able to play

When BBM come here he was asked about daaland and he was already on the way out due to wages I assume he got asked the question and BBM said "I've no idea what's going on with him" ive remember the interview, so that told me the club moved him on without the manager even having a look which didn't suprise me at the time. That's how I remember it.

Think you're right, that's how I remember it too.

Unfortunately it could make the sale of Lawlor more likely if we cant get him off our wage bill as he could be seen by Tan and his ilk as Lawlors replacement.

Don't think it makes any difference personally.
If a big bid comes in for Lawlor then it would be difficult for any club to turn down. I don't think Daland comes into that conversation because I expect Daland will be gone before pre-season.
I certainly don't expect Lawlor to be sold cheap. One thing we know about Tan is he always tries to get as much money as possible from any situation.

Trouble is that Daaland has another two years left on what I imagine is quite a lucrative contract, so he will be difficult to shift if BBM doesn't want him. Or another loan with us no doubt paying part of his wages.
