Eight points from promotion

Today's results means our nearest rivals, Bradford, can reach a maximum of 86 points.
Bolton and Stockport can only reach 85 points.
We are on 78 points.
Because of our goal difference, eight points from six games will secure promotion.

In our last six games we've only managed six points.

If Bradford reach 86pts Bolton can only reach 82pts.
Vice versa Bradford can only reach 83pts if Bolton reach 85pts.

Spot on and that is why form is really important and we are just limping along.
Lincoln have smashed it. I'm wondering how we're going to accumulate 8 points from here!

This is assuming Bradford win every game which they won't, so it's actually likely to be four points to do it.
We are going up.

And unless one of Stockport, Bolton or Bradford win every game we need just 6. Two of our games are home against sides who will almost certainly already be relegated by the time we play them. Today was a potential banana skin and our point and the Bolton v Stockport day means we are probably in a better position than we were before kick off. And it has relieved the pressure on us for Saturday and piled it on Bolton who have to beat us to even have a remote chance of top two place.

Far too sensible a post for this board. LOL
That's what people fail to recognise. Bolton will be under immense pressure to finish top 2 if they can from their board and supporters, which will transmit to a team which lets face it, is inconsistency personified. They lost to Port Vale FFS.
Pressure is all on Bolton. We just have to be cool calm and collected and wait for, and exploit better than today, the gaps that will surely appear as Bolton have to go for it.

Massive congratulations to them, I think it's great to see a club like that get to the Championship.
Them winning the league is probably the story of the season.
The league table never lies at the end of the season so there's no sour grapes from me, they fully deserve it.

I agree.
Team of the season in League 1 by a long distance on a fraction of the budget of some teams including us.
Massive turnaround in points since we played them at home. Left us miles behind.
Never had a "blip" all season.

Havnt looked like killing off lesser sides for a few months really
Lincoln have a better team work rate
Rubin Ashford and a few others need stronger players around them , they lose confidence if things are not going well and the manager needs to be brutal when points are at stake

We may limp across the line but that is because of our form since day 1.
We have been top 2 for a long time now and deservedly so.
I believe we will get another 12 points too.

Let’s get this straight. Recently we’ve faultered and been flattered by teams below us failing to manage maintain form.
I’m confident that we’ll go up but I’m now more concerned about how well fair in the championship if we don’t spend in the close-season.

It just feels like we've made it a bit more nervous than it needed to be. Albeit Im very confident we will secure 2nd place before we go to Mansfield.
The nervous feeling continues as you look at our remaining fixtures, our next 3 involve an outsider for 2nd in Bolton, in which we're at home and they will have to throw the kitchen sink at us. As somebody else described, we need to stay calm and solid in this game. A draw would not be a disaster.
We then play Huddersfield and Reading away in the same week, both now sniffing around the 6th playoff space. Two very difficult games for us to navigate.
We then go into 2 home games to potentially relegated teams which should provide us with 6 valuable points.
We then go into the last game of the season away to Mansfield with hopefully nothing riding on it for either team.
So, next 3 games, its vital we don't collapse at home in our potentially usual style against promotional rivals at 12.30, a kick off time we appear to struggle with and then scrap away twice in a week with 2 solid performances.

I'm concerned with BBM his insistence on not changing things that clearly don't work is baffling. For a guy who was being called tinkering earlier in the season. Joel Colwill must have shat in his bag to be left out so much

Pleased for them.
We'll join them in a couple of weeks. League title gives the same financial reward as 2nd and promotion is all that matters.
Especially as some said we wouldn't even get top six and wrote off Brian from day one.

Salech's injury cost us the title, I think we'd have won it with him fit, but that's life, and they will have lost key players too.

This side dont look capable of getting 8 points
We will either cough and splutter over the line due to the chasing pack being so poor
Or blow it in the play offs
A lot of bottlers in the side

I think most of the 8 points needed will come in the final 3 games. It's gonna be a tough watch in the 3 games before then. 3 play-off contenders who will all be up for it and we all know already how they'll set up.
It would be lovely to just put 5 goals on Bolton out of the blue.
