And good luck to them. I know some people on this site don't like them and they dont like us but its one of the few places locally where you can watch a game like we used to watch it. Stand where you want, blood and thunder football, no over stewarding. Like going in time back thirty years. Plenty of pubs close to the ground add to the attraction. I go two or three times a season and always enjoy it.

I’m genuinely pleased that Cewnty have stayed up, as I never see the rivalry that that set of supporters would like to believe is there. It’s good for Newport and it’s good for those who helped put that club back together!

I think the rivalry - such as it is- goes back to a brief spell in the 80's when they had a decent side and were our equals in footballing terms. That rivalry continued a bit after that when we both went into decline until they dropped out the league. I was glad to see them back.

I remember those days. They had some decent players, including at one stage, John Aldridge, who later went on to become a star at Liverpool, but never saw them in the same way I view the ‘Jacks’ or the ‘Wurzels’
