My concern about the Chelsea game

Brilliant achievement by us to be in the last eight of the Carabao Cup, well done to BBM and the team - we've been rewarded by a game against the World Champions, Chelsea.
But I'm slightly concerned.
There's a record of clubs being so excited for a big cup game that levels drop in their league games ahead of that.
We need to remember the target is getting promoted.
There is a lot of excitement about Chelsea but the league is the priority.
I hope that BBM can motivate the players for the games before Chelsea.
I think he will, but it is a slight concern for me.

BBM has played full teams in all but the paint trophy so I doubt he'll play a B team. We should be fine it's not the toughest run of games coming up either. Only Stevenage away stands out as a tough game

It can work two ways, either players performances drops as they are worried about injuries and not playing in that game…or they raise their game as they want to be picked.
I don’t think BBM is the kind of manager to let players rest on their laurels. I think we’ll be fine.

Thats true the later stages do affect the lower ranking teams and there is almost always a drop off just before and sometimes after.
I suppose it's another test for him, and he can use form before the game as motivation for a starting place in the game.

It's the quarter finals of a cup we should be excited for the game. Why should form drop off? Players should be busting a gut to make sure they are in the eleven who take the field. Back in the 80s and 90s it was a dream to pull a top team at home in the cup.

Absolutely Spot on
This has nothing to do with our Terrible Dip in Form

Funnier things have happened!
I’m one who doesn’t believe our dip in form is related. As someone else wrote, these games should make players bust a gut to be included in this type of game

I hope they do even if it's just for them to experience the level that we could be at.

When we get to December it's going to get tougher with the number of games we have along with the players available.
