I don’t think we will see him in the squad for Reading. He will need a good week of training with the team first to familiarise himself I’d expect.

To compliment Etete (assuming he signs!)if it is a choice between Carroll, Wells or Grabban, who would you choose??!I would take Wells

None of them I hope and I can't understand the hysteria that some posters have about signing spent forces. Remember Ricky Lambert.

If it had to be 1 of the 3 I would choose grabban as I believe he is the better striker and has the more knowledge etc to pass on to Etete

The club takes around 3 days now on all signings now ,only announces them when everything is fully done and I don't blame them after sala ,sawyers was training with the team before waw announced recently.

What’s the 5min medical? I know nothing about medical but assume that’s bad

My mistake, Eastleigh Blue is saying in another thread that the deal may be off according to twitter rumours.

Finally confirmed!

Re: UPDATED: ‘ CARDIFF CITY’S NEW NO 9 ‘

Cardiff City FC are delighted to welcome striker Kion Etete to the Club on a permanent transfer from Tottenham Hotspur, subject to clearance.

The striker, who will wear the number 9 jersey in the Welsh capital, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Cardiff City Stadium. He joins for an undisclosed fee.

Etete made his professional debut for Notts County in 2018, and went on to join Spurs the following year after a successful trial in North London.

The 20-year-old made 20 appearances for Tottenham’s U23 side in the PL2 during the 2020/21 campaign, scoring nine goals, before enjoying two successful loan spells in the EFL last season.

The centre forward scored three goals in 13 League Two appearances for Northampton Town in the first half of the campaign, before adding another three strikes to his tally whilst featuring for Cheltenham Town in League One.

Speaking after signing his agreement, Kion said: “It feels good to finally be here. The manager went into a lot of detail about the plan for the season, and how they want me to play. It’s my job to try and fulfil that. When the players know what the gaffer wants from them, it’s easier to put it into motion on the pitch.

“Obviously having gone from League Two to League One, the Championship is the next one. I just can’t wait to get started, get used to the level, and hopefully excel.

“I’ll always work hard for the team and the Club. Winning is the number one priority at the end of the day, and I’ll do as much as I can to fulfil that.”

City boss Steve Morison added: “I’m very happy. He’s an investment for the Club, and he’s got all the attributes to be a top striker.

“He’s strong, he’s quick, and he’s athletic. He will bring other players into the game, and he will run all day long. We’ve got a top player on our hands.

“He’s young, he’s hungry, and he’s a player that we see as ready now. He can get better and better, and we’ll like to see how far we can take him.”

Welcome to the Welsh capital, Kion!

Seems a good signing but like any he will need games. Just need another striker now and we are done I suspect even if its a loan then we can bomb off the Sunday league player watters and Harris will be back up I suspect :bluescarf:
