Great signing for Sheff, always felt he would go to a team that would be expecting to push for promotion.
i am curious as to wether its fully Man Citys decision or if they asked Tommy where he would like to go, as most clubs consult with the players more these days

Imho I really never thought he took any game by the skin of its teeth.
I was always expecting to see more from him.

This is all about loan fees IMO

Christmas was a damage limitation exercise for Citeh and Doyle so we had him very cheaply, United are probably paying a fair chunk of change.

Doyle faded as the season went on, but his greatest asset is he wasn't Bacuna, Pack or Vaulks.

Interesting whether he kicks onto being a premier league player (not Citeh) as he is 21 in October and needs to dominate this season to get a premier league transfer, maybe with Sheffield

I am not expecting a change in style, the midfield will be mobile aggressive and pressing, we have got a pool of those now, the width is from the wingbacks, so NG is a centre half in a 3. If we are to spend on a transfer on loan fee it needs to be up top.

I understand where we are as a club and think SM has done a decent recruiting job.

I never saw Doyle as a 10 or an attacking player, that where we need to be spending

I agree Delano. No major tears shed here imo.

Loan players rarely return to club they were loaned out to. Parent clubs prefer different environments for loanees! Good for their development.

It’s funny when Tommy was here, the majority of fans loved him and praised Morison for bringing him in, as soon as these players go elsewhere suddenly they are not good anymore, you could not make it up.

Sheffield United have taken him and to e fair they will be expected to be be in the top 6 of the Championship.

Yes, let’s be honest he was excellent and we’d all rather he was still here.

He was a bit inconsistent but he’s young and can clearly play. He will be even better next season.

I’d be quite happy with that sort of quality coming in for this season.

Absolutely spot on, let’s have players like Tommy Doyle coming back again.

good player but he’s no Koumas.

Good business from us so far. A lot of weak sides in this league too, don’t see us being in trouble. Could stay up with what we have but need a goal scorer to come forward if we are to have an enjoyable season as fans.

Was a good player for us, and certainly gave us something we didn't have, and are still somewhat lacking. But I think with the signing we have, Ralls will be freed up to attack more, as before we had no legs in midfield. We could have done with him, to give us more options in midfield.

Be interesting to know how often a loan player goes back on loan to the same club 2 years in a row before saying it's the club who are at fault as some have alluded to.

I would have him back But I am sure Man cIty would have been unlikely to want to send a player back out on loan to the same club This very rarely happens . It is all about having football experience and Sheffield Utd will add to that experience We know that the board have made mistakes but some people want to blame them for everything without any proof they did anything wrong

Blame club is easy shot but was reading that fifa are limited loans from foreign countries which we are one ..... so maybe that's why didn't want to send him here! Besides fact that not many clubs send players back out to same club as that is not conducive to player development. Think man c appeared happy with way he played so has to be another reason for sending him elsewhere.

Untrue mate if the club is happy and the player it’s easier and better for all parties

Dundee United 'edging closer' to Levitt deal

Dundee United boss Jack Ross says he's hopeful his side are 'edging closer' to sealing another loan swoop for Manchester United midfielder Dylan Levitt, despite strong interest from Cardiff City.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with the Tangerines, and proved a big hit at Tannadice, notching six goals and earning one assist.

Cardiff had been linked with moves for the Wales international. However, new boss Ross is clearly hopeful his side can win the race to sign Levit on a season long loan.

Remember Gents, it’s also about how much we are prepared to pay towards these players wages, that goes a long long way in deciding where the Bigger clubs decide to send their players, plus of course they want to see their players out on loan playing with clubs that are ambitious and look like they’ve recruited quality players that will potentially challenge for promotion.
