Sky Bet Championship
Craven Cottage

Cardiff City team: Smithies, Ng, McGuinness, Flint (C), Bagan,Vaulks, Bowen, Pack, Giles, Colwill, Moore

Subs: Phillips, Morrison, Brown, Patten, Evans, Harris, Collins

Team News: :bluebird:

Tom Sang and Isaac Vassell both out.

Tom Sang still looks unlikely to be in contention for Fulham as he nurses a toe injury.

The right-back underwent surgery on it in pre-season and Mick McCarthy said it had flared up ahead of the Swansea game, making him unlikely to feature.

It remains to be seen the extent to which Leandro Bacuna's injury against Swansea affected him. Bacuna went down in the second half before being substituted.

Elsewhere, Cardiff have a relatively clean bill of health. McCarthy said Sam Bowen had recovered from illness ahead of the Swansea game, so it must be assumed that he was omitted from the squad purely from a tactical perspective.

Fulham injury update

Fulham trio Fabio Carvalho, Joe Bryan and Ivan Cavaleiro. will all miss the Cardiff City clash on Wednesday night.

Ivan Cavaleiro went off injured in the last match against QPR and was replaced by Bobby DeCordova-Reid and Marco Silva has confirmed he is unavailable.

Fabio Carvalho has tested positive for Covid, too, while Joe Bryan will be absent after suffering a knock on the weekend.

It will most likely be an easy 1-0 win for Fulham.

To us though it will still be a loss, no goals scored and nil point.

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy expects to be in charge at Fulham on Wednesday despite a 3-0 south Wales derby mauling at Swansea City.

The Bluebirds suffered a sixth straight Championship defeat as Jamie Paterson inspired a dominant Swansea victory.

The humbling nature of the defeat will only add to speculation about McCarthy's Cardiff future.

"Until anybody tells me different, I will be in tomorrow morning preparing for the [Fulham] game," he said.

"I have never had too many problems with players not playing for me. If they are not then I would be disappointed, but I can't see that.

"When does the pressure get too much for me? I keep doing the job and trying to get results. I will continue that until anybody tells me different."

Some disappointing and embarrassing posts on here, as some of you appear to be willing a heavy defeat on the Bluebirds

'Mick McCarthy Out' may be the basis of your comments but to wish the team a loss for that end alone is pretty crass

It's clearly going to be a tough game but this is football and supporters should get behind the team from the off

What happens after that should shape the mood

Last nights matches were on the red button so I am assuming this one will be too. Reluctant to pay any money to watch us as long as McCarthy is in charge.

Mick's at the 'Last Chance Saloon' and needs to do something drastic, Rog

Seemingly, his time is up regardless but he could make a statement against a team in Fulham that many of our own supporters have raised the 'White Flag' to...

Can't see it though; Mick appears intransigent and some players will be picked regardless of form :|
