Help with Kodi 17.1 on Android

After installing Kodi I keep getting the message Parse error,There was a problem parsing the package .Cheers

I read online the other day that it only works with the newer version of the boxes. Mine's slightly older and wasn't recommended to upgrade to it. 16 still works fine mind.

Your right you will get a parse error if your device isnt compatible with 17, 16.1 is still ok to us but eventually add ons will fail as more and more devs will only consentrate on 17 versions.
You could look on line to check for firmware updates for your device if not sometime in the future you will need to upgrade your device....but not just yet

Try this ftmc it is suppose to be able to update older versions of android boxes to accept kodi 17, the reason that the older boxes will not accept the kodi 17 version is that 17 uses https://. whereas 16 uses http://
I however having on my firestick no problem and of course your computer or laptop is capable of using 17
