Glad he'll be playing in the premier league. The more welsh players playing in that league the better for Wales. Just hope he can cement his place in thier first team

I always rated Matthews, We could not afford his fee or wages.

Sunderland have been training today, as they start their preparations for the 2015-16 campaign.
One of the players who was working hard during today’s pre-season training with defender Adam Matthews (see photos above, below and to the right)
The Wales international left Scottish Premiership champions Celtic and moved to Premier League outfit Sunderland on a four-year contract last week.
According to BBC Sport, the Black Cats had to pay as much as £2 million in transfer fee for the services of the 23-year-old right-back.
Matthews played for Celtic for four years after moving to the Glasgow giants from Welsh outfit Cardiff City in the summer of 2011.

Never been his biggest fan but hopefully he gets some game time
