ABSOLUTE WHITEWASH

Boris refuses to answer questions on Cummings, keeps saying let me get on with the pandemic and forget about cummings
Very little commitee asking decent questions, he just said on answering one member you are just getting political

PM hints at financial penalties for those who don't isolate

Clark now asks if it will be compulsory for someone to stay at home if they have come into contact with an infected person, under the new test-and-trace system.

Boris Johnson says staying at home in that situation would be good "not just for them but also good for the population".

Clark repeats his question.

"We wanted to make it clear that people must stay at home," the PM says.

Will it be the law or just advice, Clark wants to know.

"We will be asking people to stay at home - if they don't follow that advice, we will consider what sanctions may be necessary," says Johnson.

"By the police?"

"Whatever is appropriate," says the PM.

Good Luck with that - " Dominic's Law came in a few nights ago !!!

This is starting to get embarrassing for him - Can't give dates apart from the 1 - Cummings does not want to go on about -

Making new rules after the horse has bolted - More worrying coming across as sexist and that cough has come back .

Are you also saying that
Stephen Kinnock, Tair Ali, Kevan Jones (labour MP for Durham) should also be arrested and sacked ?

What about dreary Drakeford and Gethin Vaughan, who also broke the rules? Surely they should go. Or is it just Tory people and/or Brexit supporters that should be sacked?

Cummings wife is allowed to travel about as she's a key worker (journalist) unless it's only anti government journalists that are allowed to travel freely.

What about police officers who are regularly seen breaking the social distancing rules? They should be setting the best example.
Partying with the Durham Labour MP. Perhaps that's why they lied and made up stories of speaking to Dominic Cummings?

A local nurse has been travelling 150 miles (300 round trip) at weekends to see her boyfriend. Carrying viruses up north, and or collecting them from there, and returning them to here. Endangering her patients without a care for anything.
Then these nurses are on tv saying please protect them. What's your views on her being sacked? should she or not?

Going to be some serious questing for boris to answer when this whole saga dies down, the language you are searching for pembroke, is gobbledygook :thumbright: :old: :bluebird:

I have misgivings about the effectiveness of test and trace to be honest and that's with or without the missing technology or indeed any other system. I think it could be a much better success in Wales, Scotland and the more sparsely populated areas of England. But we're too densely populated in our cities and generally we're not compliant enough.

Testing would need to be on the doorstep and pretty much instant. It will be hard enough to get people to isolate on the basis they've been in contact with someone who's got covid. It'll be impossible to get them to isolate on the basis they may have been in contact with someone who may have covid. It'll work in places like South Korea but they're so compliant they got by with social distancing and didn't even need to go to lockdown.

For me London's main hope lies with the possibility that enough people got it the first time around. Not herd immunity but sufficient numbers to a brake on the spread. If 30% had it then that's R down by 30% straight away. But as that's likely to be the most interactive sector of the community the effect should be even greater. That's my hope anyway

It's just one measure, it will make about 20% difference, we still need to distance, wash hands and all of the other measures, but let's keep positive the virus is fading, and we need to keep helping kill it off.

Could you please enlighten us on what Journalistic work Cummings' wife was participating in whilst self isolating in her Father-in-Law's 'spare' cottage which she couldn't have done via home working as the guidelines stated? Also if she was suffering with COVID-19 then she wasn't allowed to leave her home under any circumstances, not even Doctors and Nurses were allowed to break that guideline.

Kinnock, Tair Ali or Kevan Jones were all wrong to break the lock down and should face internal disciplinary investigations. I certainly wouldn't vote for any of them if they represented me and there may well be a huge backlash coming their way.

That said none of the above were part of the team which drafted the guidelines. Cummings was and from what we hear he was a very influential part of that team and that is the fact which magnifies what he did.

He would have know that his actions were dubious and broke the spirit of the lock down guidelines which is probably why he didn't inform anyone of what he planned to do. I remember him leaving 10 Downing Street and running to a car where it was reported he was showing 'symptoms' of COVID-19. The perception was he was self-isolating in his London home, no-one mentioned going to Durham.

Boris has f**ked up big time with this. He may well eventually deliver BREXIT but that won't save him. The toff nobs like him and Cummings have reverted to type and believe they are special cases and more important than the rest of us and therefore the rules don't apply to them.

I think they did, three or four days and on wait for the next feck up, and all start again.

I think Cummings will stay, but the left-wing press will be trying their best to keep the pressure on with any old story, still thats life they know what they signed up for, but this particular witchhunt has been done to death :sleepy2:

We know the reason and it all comes down to the agenda they follow. They want to move on when its against them but make the most of it when its in their favour. One of the reason I don't vote for any of the main 3 parties. They have bored me with their childish ways.

Which of them had a flatback lorry with a big screen outside their homes playing emotive clips to their partner and child. Which of them were accosted by political extremists on their doorstep when taking kids to school, like Rees Mogg was. Labour used to speak for the working man, not anymore, indeed they are contemptuous ofworking class people now.

That’s true.. some very nasty people have attached themselves to Labour(again).. also true is that all the working men I see daily won’t touch Labour for a number of reasons... days have gone.
