My daughter finished 4 years at Durham last summer. We used to get up and back comfortably on a tank full if we started with it full. That was a very economical A3 and not a range rover though but the tank sizes are all relative.

Dominic Cummings is asked whether he needed to make another stop to fill up with fuel.

"We drove up, and we went back, and I'm pretty sure we called in and filled up with petrol on the way back," he says.

"But remember at this point I had been cleared to go back to work, so I don't think that I was in any way breaking the rules."

"On the way up I didn't stop at all, but on the way down, I can't be totally sure but I am 95 per cent sure that I stopped on the way back down and filled up with petrol.
