Its not always easy money. I took £200 off them at 100-1 many years ago when I bet against us making the play offs. Its a logical thing to do if the odds are long. We don't want to win the bet but at least it pays for a season ticket so you get your football free the following year.

To be fair, I think those City fans who placed those bets will be happier than the bookies if/when we get promoted.
I didn't do it, but understand why some did - it was a win/win situation for them because the winnings would have been a good consolation for us missing out.
But as I said, they'll obviously be pleased if/when we secure top two.

25 quid I'm more than happy to lose, although my bet for us to finish top 6 at the start of the season will cover it, we're still not 100% there yet so no popping champagne corks just yet for me

Bookies must love you, more than happy to lose.

Exactly. I m willing city to go up and happy to lose £25. It was a ‘softner’ to pay for next years season ticket if we didn’t go up.

Exactly. As I posted earlier, I got 100-1 on them missing out on the play offs once. There was only a 1 in 4 chance of us being promoted even if we had made the play offs and the £200 won eased the pain and paid for next season. No brainer
