Surprised that Salech is back in the squad for this game, but great news.
Guessing that Robertson is on the bench because of the long journey back from Australia.
Good that Rubin is fit enough to start.

Yousef Salech named on the subs bench; his first matchday squad inclusion since January 24th.

Thanks Bells No Lawlor
Salech returns for Cardiff, fit enough for the bench. No Lawlor, but Rubin passed fit.
Cardiff City XI: Trott; Ng, Fish, Chambers, Bagan; Wintle, Turnbull, R. Colwill; Tanner, Kellyman, Ashford.
Subs: Turner, Kpakio, J. Colwill, Robertson, Willock, Robinson, Salech.

Yes very surprising after BBM's comments.
Great to have that option on the bench, let's hope it's not too soon for him.

No Osho?

Slightly worried about that team.
Not sure that playing Rubin and Kellyman together works very well and no Scanlon on the bench.
Good to see Salech back - hope we don't need him to play.
No centre half cover if anything happens to Fish or Chambers.
Well done Bellamy for ruining Lawlor in a waste of time non event.

Think Joel's unlucky to miss out not starting

Agree.
Would have started him ahead of Turnbull.

Wintle and Turnbull in midfield together could be a big mistake. Too slow. Robertson and Colwill on to chase the game can just see it now.

The bench looks a lot stronger today than in recent weeks which could prove the difference late in the game

Agree lads Turnball offers very little Joel has more energy and will press on into the box

Still got two games of his suspension left because his red card was for violent conduct.
Wintle only got a one game ban for his red earlier in the season because it was a last man foul, not violent conduct.

Joe for turnbull for me he plays better with his brother and he looks to score, turnback turnbull blows hot and cold
Mon Apr 06, 2026 1:35 pm
Ruben again though.... clearly him and kellyman don't work ffs and Ashford on wrong foot again

Hopefully they will have enough to beat Peterborough. The midfield looks slow.
Id have liked Joel C and Robertson to start as a midfield with Wintle.
Ie I would have had Turnbull and R Colwill on the bench.Anyway fingers crossed.

With no Gabriel Osho, there are no centre-backs on the Bluebirds bench today. Nor is there room for Liverpool loanee Calum Scanlon.
Matt Turner is preferred to January signing Harry Tyrer among the replacements, too.

Is Salech being pampered?

What makes you think that? Is he having his nails done on the touchline or did I miss something else?

yes it's an odd question.
He had a neck injury and had to see a specialist. I'm sure BBM will have asked the medical staff every day when Salech will be ready to return.

Yes, exactly that. The fact he's wearing a hooded towelling dressing gown is a clue

I stick with what I said before the match and now reading other threads it appears that the majority of posters agree that a midfield of J Colwill Robertson and Wintle is our best balanced midfiled. It would be good to see them start in midfield for all the remaining matches.
If Salech is fit/ sharp enough it would be nice to see him and Kellyman upfront and Rubin on the bench for the Bolton match.
