Decided to create a topic for Euro 2020 (still called Euro 2020, despite it's now being played in 2021) as a similar topic on the EFL play-offs had plenty of discussion and debate. Hopefully the same on this one.

Will be updated daily.

It started on Friday 11th June in Rome and concludes with the final in London on Sunday 11th July.

Will keep the topic as a sticky for the duration of the tournament.

Tournament betting odds below:

France - 9/2
England - 5/1
Belgium - 6/1
Germany - 7/1
Spain - 15/2
Portugal - 8/1
Italy - 11/1
Holland - 12/1
Denmark - 28/1
Croatia - 33/1
Turkey - 50/1
Ukraine - 50/1
Russia - 66/1
Switzerland - 66/1
Austria - 80/1
Poland - 80/1
Sweden - 100/1
Czech Republic - 150/1
Wales - 200/1
Scotland - 250/1
Slovakia - 250/1
Hungary - 400/1
Finland - 500/1
North Macedonia - 500/1

All games will be live on either BBC or ITV.

All of Wales' games are also live on S4C.

The top two from each group will qualify for the Last 16.

Also qualifying will be the four best third place teams. These will be decided on the following factor, in this order:

1 Head to head result
2 Points
3 Goal difference
4 Goals scored
5 Wins
6 Disciplinary record
7 European qualifiers ranking

All the fixtures, results and standings will be updated below.

I've got £20 on Portugal @10/1 their best xl is a match for anyone. £10 each on Denmark and Wales the Danes record is very good the last 2yrs and look to have a decent draw. Wales just got dream

I think Holland are going to come good at the right time, unfortunately Wales the opposite.

I've assessed all variables and permutations and have just rechecked again. Wales to win by 2 clear goals in the final.

C'mon Wales.

:bluebird: :D

Germany for me.

I also think that the 2 teams who reach the final will have the best chance of winning it.

I'm not sure if they can meet on the way to the final, but I wouldn't be surprised to see an England V Belgium final - I think it might finally be Belgium's turn. Unfortunatley for us the heros of Euro 2016 are all five years older and have had some long term injuries between them. I think we will do well to get out of the group.

I think Portugal as well.

The only team to have successfully defend the title is Spain, but I think Portugal could do it this year.

When you look at the players they have, they are very strong:

Cristiano Ronaldo
Bruno Fernandes
Ruben Dias
Joao Cancelo
Diogo Jota
Joao Felix
Rui Patricio

Genuinely have top class players all over the pitch.

A big test is the fact they're in a group with Germany and France but, if they don't suffer any significant injuries, they'll be right in the mix.

I also think Italy will be ones to watch.

Unfortunately I think our squad is not as strong as when we had that epic run in Euro 2016 but i think we will go deep into the tournament if we get through the group stages. I think everyone will be placing FRANCE as the winners due to there incredible squad and because they won the last world cup competition

More think Wales will win than Portugal, Spain, Italy, England, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Croatia and the rest  :laughing6:

2 points or less I would have thought?

Tournament starts on Friday night in Rome, as Italy face Turkey in our group.

I did the tournament predictor and got France to beat England in the final.

Neither Wales nor Scotland got out the group stage sadly. (maybe not sadly for Scotland!)

Re: Starts tonight in Rome " Euro 2020 topic "

After a delay of a year, Euro 2020 finally begins tonight.

Italy play Turkey in Rome in the opening game.

Following that, there will be three games on Saturday - including Wales' opener against Switzerland in Baku at 2pm.

FIFA world rankings…

Italy - 7th - 11/1
Wales -17th - 200/1
Turkey - 29th - 50/1
Czech - 40th - 150/1

So, decent odds on Wales then?

Good to hear the boos and whistles throughout the first 5 mins tonight. They must not like these political matches either.

Yes, being used in this tournament.

A couple of checks already, but they took no time at all.

Italy well on top so far.

Half time in Rome and it's 0-0.

Decent first half, with Italy dominating. Turkey have been defending with eleven players in their own penalty area at times. If they continue to play like that, their defenders will get tired quickly in the second half.

Turkey have been poor, far too defensive.

Once their defenders get tired in the second half, I can see Italy getting the goals they need.
