Leaves too much space to be exposed which is why I knew Fabio would be replacing him. John is too good to replace and other than getting caught sometimes over the shoulder from an aerial threat barely puts a foot wrong. Fabio with more match time and getting up to fitness will be equally as good. Too young, dynamic full backs who overlap and have the pace to get back if we're countered. Theo unfortunately does not get back quick enough after he's gone on a run forward. I won't criticise him though badly because he does put the effort in. I just don't think he has the stamina to cope with bombing up and down the wings to support the attack and get back to cover.

He's ok going forward but not a very good defender, a bit worrying for a fullback.

Agree. He's trying to play the modern fullback role where they are expected to be good at everything - getting forward, tackling, tracking back, covering, crossing. He's not perfect at all of it yet but was a decent signing for the money. When people first saw him they couldn't say enough good stuff about him. How quickly some people turn.
