MY VIEW ON PROTESTING ON BOXING DAY

Sun Dec 22, 2013 9:50 pm

I said before the Liverpool game that I will be going to the Boxing Day protest because I don't like the way our manager is being treated and being undermined and also because the way our club is being run at moment, like a circus act.

The protest started at Liverpool yesterday and despite the words of Mehmet Dalman today I am still not convinced that the saga is over. The press release does not state that Malky Mackay is the manager with the backing of the owner, it is a release designed to calm the waters ahead of a possible meeting between the two.

Obviously Dalman's meeting with Tan did not deliver an end to the saga but a few days respite.

For that reason I am still going to go to the protest on Boxing Day to show my discontent at the way our club is being run by Vincent Tan.

I wrote a piece a few weeks ago that I feel Vincent Tan should run the club from the business side and should step aside from the footballing decisions of the club, he should protect his investment and try and get back the money he has put in and even make profit on his investment.

But the longer Tan continues to make decisions that directly affect the footballing side of the club then we will continue to have situations that have unfolded over the past two months.

For myself it is not Tan Out, it is to run this club professionally and leave the football matters to football people, that way he protects his investment and gives our the club the best possible chance of succeeding.

I would like to see the Malky Mackay song carried on to keep delivering the message that we are not happy with the treatment of the manager and how the whole is situation is being handled.

Yesterday's protest was spontaneous and nobody, as far as I am aware, organised the sit in chanting and it gave the demonstration a lot more credit, on Boxing Day I hope that any fan who does attend the protest for their own personal feeling does so for the right reasons and do not lower the tone with any racist or obscene chanting.

Fans are obviously not happy with how things are being done at the moment but hopefully it will stay on the side of decent.

I would be happy with that scenario (as long as it's not sold to another Tan like owner).

“If I had one wish for Boxing Day, it’s that they don’t hold up ‘Tan Out’ or ‘Malky In’ banners, but rather one that says ‘Talk to each other’.”

Well guess what we are talking to each other and we are now stronger than ever - we are Blue and we will not be strung along anymore - we are the ones you now need to talk to and listen too - as we will be here a lot longer than yourselves - :malky: :ayatollah:

Boxing Day 1pm I will be there :ayatollah:

Vincent Tan has lifted the sack threat hanging over Malky Mackay for the time being

Cardiff City latest: Vincent Tan decides NOT to sack Malky Mackay for now as chairman Mehmet Dalman looks to strike peace deal
22 Dec 2013 1

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has lifted the sack threat hanging over Malky Mackay for the time being and is ready to enter dialogue to see if the two men can resolve their differences.

Tan and Mackay are being brought together by respected Bluebirds chairman Mehmet Dalman, who has postponed a Christmas holiday to France to work painstakingly behind the scenes in a bid to end the stand-off for the good of the club.

The news that Tan is at least prepared to consider keeping Mackay at the helm will come as an enormous boost to Bluebirds fans, who constantly chanted the name of their manager during Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

Dalman calmed the waters when the first Tan-Mackay storm erupted over the controversial departure of the manager’s right-hand man Iain Moody two months ago.

And it appears his persuasive powers have held sway again, following 11th hour talks with Tan at a London hotel ahead of the Liverpool game.

Dalman told us: “My definition of diplomacy is to create space for dialogue. I have spoken to Vincent Tan and he has agreed I can go into bat to try to bring a solution to this situation.

“The important thing is that we try to find a way through this predicament. There is goodwill on Vincent’s side. I’ve not had a chance to talk to Malky just yet, but I will obviously do that as well.

“We need to have further dialogue to see if we can get through this together for the good of the club, which is the most important thing.

“We managed to create space for everyone to work together back in October and we have to see if we can do that again in order to move forward.

“At least we have a platform for dialogue, which gives us a chance to try to work our way through this.

“If we wish to work towards a reconciliation, Vincent Tan has offered us that opportunity to move towards that.

“If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. But at least I as a responsible person and chairman of this football club have tried my best.

“I’m not taking sides in this, I’m just trying to do my best for the good of the club. Let’s see if we can fix it.

“We can’t keep having the club under a cloud, so this is it. We managed to get two or three months leeway last time and we need to create something similar again.

Liverpool v Cardiff City: Fans unite behind Mackay

Asked specifically if the sack threat over Mackay had been lifted, Dalman replied: “For the time being, yes it is. The crisis for the time being is over.

“As things stand Malky is in charge for the foreseeable future and will be until something else happens.

“I don’t want to go game by game on this, with people asking if Malky will be in charge. The emphasis as of today is for us to create space and dialogue.”

Dalman continued: “This is a crucial time in the Premier League. Every point counts and we are better off going for stability.

“So if we want to give the club the best chance of being in the Premier League next season, the best way is to fix the problem and seek stability.

“In order to do that, it’s best we have an attempt at dialogue.

“Vincent Tan is in London for a while, so at least he is physically here which makes it easier to have that face to face dialogue.”

Same here Carl, the protest should be supported and controlled. Was'nt in Liverpool yesterday, but my daughter bought a hospitality box and all the Liverpool fans around her, yes even in the posh seats, we're amazed at the support the city fans gave to the team and malkey. One Liverpool fan of over 50 years said to her, we we're the best fans to come to anfield, what a testament, and I for one am so proud to support this great football club of ours. I appeal to all city fans, blue, red, pink or even purple, to sing loud and proud on Boxing Day and show the rest of Britain and the world, that we do care about our football club. :ayatollah:

Would be happy to protest for our colours back. I feel now is the time to turn up the heat on Tan with the bad press.

Malky to me needs to be judged on results - to me this is a side issue.

An ideal scenario is Tan leaves the football matters to the people who know about football. And he takes care if the business side I things.
We still need his money or some one with same spending power.

I've never felt strongly enough about anything in my life to actively go out and protest about it, but I'll be there at 1pm on Boxing Day to add my voice and hope that some form of sanity will return to the club I have supported for 50 years.

Tan out is what I want unless we all want a club run by a clown sorry, but in all honesty I am convinced Tan is the sort of egotist who has got to have the last word.

What is the next thing he will do ?Ah today I think I will melt old Fred Keenor down and have a statue of me in his place. Some of you never seem to learn.
TAN DOES NOT DO DEBATE HE DOES DICTATE. Everyone who wants him to stay deserves all they get. Get some balls and get him out fast we will be ok the whole world knows what is going on. Just keep it within the law. :ayatollah:

That is not accurate at all, the quotes attributed to Malky are actually Mehmet Dalman's words.

Malky and Tan have not spoken.

Does he show respect sugar? Maybe to his peers but not to the minions that work for him! We need to cajole him now into putting us back to blue not try and start a war we as fans won't win, as stated before he won't go until conditions financially are what he requires to sell.

Well said Carl.

As long as its not aggresive, racist or even violent.

Hope it doesnt affect the team coming in around that time though!

Can't see how their relationship can ever be repaired. How can MM ever be expected to trust Tan again, and I think any truce can only be temporary. I still think Malky will be unable to stay for any great length of time, as Tan can't seem to help himself when it comes to interfering with the playing side of the club. Would'nt think many supporters will ever be able to trust Tan again either, and I wonder if he now regrets ever getting involved with the club. All in all, a pretty uncertain future, and a bumpy ride ahead.
