hopefully the same and we will be up carl, but the three supposed new signings to come in soon will help, so i can not see how we can fail this season as its has to happen

Carl I was looking at the stats last night with Lyndon for the last 10 years, not many teams who are top at this stage and have this many points fail to go up come May, I cant rem exactly but I am not sure if 8 or 9 teams have gone up those seasons when they are top at Xmas.

Yes Carlos, we have a manager, who has assembled a quality team of fighters and a manager who has a plan B and doesnt bottle big games, a manager who shrugs of a defeat and wins the next game virtually every time. YES WE ARE GOING UP.

I always look a month ahead and look at the team we have to play to see what form they are in. I was concerned with these Xmas fixutures o Leicester, Palace and Millwall a few weeks back. All 3 were looking good then but now they seem to be on a bit of bad form. Palace cannot win a game atm and Millwall seem to have gone off the boil in the last 2 games. At the start of the season we would be looking at 6 points but with their form before last week we would have been happy with 2 points. Now we could be looking at taking 6 points due to their present form not being as good.

This next half of the season we will still need some luck regarding playing teams when they are on form. I fear a few teams have gone through a transition period specially those with new managers and we could find it being a totally different league all together.

I too think we will go up automatically. Mind you, I thought we'd go up last year, year before that and the year before that. Not sure about the year before the year before that.

I am an eternal optimist so don't take any notice of what I think.

Another 40 points will be enough for automatic, so in theory we've got a bit of insurance, sign a striker and were up

I think we need 8 wins of those home games 5 away games, giving us 39 points, throw in say 3 draws, 42 points, We are going to lose games in this league as we already know. Just need strong home form and battle like crazy away from home.

And we'll if we don't go up after that points total it would be unheard of!

Now bring on goals on Sunday and lets see what the gaffer has to say.

We have a nice spread of games against the top sides in terms of who we have home and away.

Home against: Palace, Millwall, Leicester, Brighton, Derby, Forest

Away against: Hull, Boro, Watford, Leeds, Blackpool

All tough but I reckon we will need 2 or 3 wins out of those 5 tough aways. Overall 14 wins required but its not going to be easy

Some half season stats:

- We're top of the home table averaging 2.72pts per game, we all know about that form.

- We're the forth best team away from home now... That surprised me we average 1.41 points per game, the only teams better than us are Palarse Watford and Hull, two out of the three we've beaten at home, roll on Boxing Day!

- We're joint top goal scores averaging 1.91 goals per game, or roll it forward 88 goals for the season, as I've posted many times every team who've scored more than 81 goals in a season for the past 6 years has gone up automatically.

- We're forth in the goals conceded table with only the foxes, Hull and Brighton being better defensively, we concede 1.21 goals per game.

- We only failed to score in one game or more impressively if you like percentages we score in 96% of the games we've played

- we're joint top of the clean sheet table with the foxes, clean sheets in 34% of our games.

So make of this what you will, me I think more of the same please a bit of strength in depth. My view is we will go up automatically but we should buy in January as the pre-season for next year, I know it sound presumptuous but we have to think long term.... Come on city

I went through our remaining fixtures last night and even being generous to everyone(I've got us losing 5 or 6 more games), we still end up with 93 points

That will suffice top two without doubt

We should be able to win 8 home games min so 24 pts and away if you say win 6 draw 3 then 21 pts Giving us a finish of 92 pts. Personally I think it will be more than that. But we are going up, make no mistake

Have to admit that we have surpassed my expectations . I think we need 88 points as a minim for auto promotion.
Teams around us are beginning to drop points with Hull now looking the main danger team. More teams will come to Cardiff in the 2nd half of the season intent on frustrating us so our our away form will be crucial to our promotion push.
I now agree with most that we need 2~3 players in the Jan. window to prevent us from burning out in some areas.

IMO we have also been through a transitional period since the start of the season.
Our injury list has been horrendous. We are just coming out of it now and will kick
on after xmas. For how we will fare in the next twenty odd games. See Craig Conway.

He was dropped, head up his arse, wanted to leave. He got his chance and is playing
like a man possessed. He knows one bad game and he's back on the bench. That goes
for all our players. The only motivation players really need is to know that if they have
a weak 90 minutes.. they may not be playing the next game.

We have a team of battlers and can score goals from all over the pitch. Every single manager
in this division wants to be able to say that about his team.

2 questions for you my dear Carl(honest answers would be appreciated)..............those 23 games we have played,how many do you think we played like Championship leaders?...second question,i think personally we have the best squad of players in the division,do you think that Mackay makes the most of our talented squad?....i know you have a nagging doubt about Mackays ability,i also know you have to measure your comments because you have to keep on the right side of the City establishment to gain you little pearls of information that you dish out to the gullible,but i think deep down you are your own man and you will give your honest opinion to my two questions
