Big factor is Malky standing by him as captain and not stripping him of it as soon as Bellamy came back.Really showing his leadership qualitys this year.Supurb performance again!

He was a bit dodgy under DJ during his first season, but he was top-notch under him in 2010/11. I've seen people say that he's only been playing well since the beginning of Malky's tenure, but that's not true. As aforementioned, during 10/11 he was brilliant, which is strange, considering how many different partners he had in the middle.

And to think most people were saying he was league 2 at best for a long time.

Have to agree with Cwmann_Bluebird. He had two on and off seasons with Dave Jones but stepped it up halfway through the second season. He's a great role model as well. Seems like a really nice bloke, works hard and it's a pleasure to have him as the captain of the club. As I have said time and time again, we all abused him when he first joined because he did play poorly. However, he didn't hide away. He stood up and improved. You have to respect that in the face of the negativity he suffered.

Should be voted Player Of The Season he has been immense.
