O/T - Digital Cameras

I'm off to Sweden for a week-long trip at the beginning of February, and I was pondering what sort of camera to buy, not only to take lots of photos on the trip, but also for future purposes.

I've had this run of the mill Casio camera for the last 3 or 4 years, and I'm looking for a camera that isn't made just to fit snugly in my pocket. My budget ranges from £300-£350.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

That Nikon 1 looks cool. Not sure how much. I don't know dick about cameras either.
