Rather be away on Boxing Day!!!!

Wed Dec 19, 2012 12:55 pm

If you examine the results on Boxing day down the years it will show that teams doing well who play at home will often get turned over by so called lesser opponents. I would offer a theory on this an away team would travelling to the match and be tucked up in an hotel on the Christmas night before, where as the home team players would be at home with the family, eating and just maybe the small drink making them not having the right preparation for a match, it maybe only a small factor but in the modern game small percentages make a difference. SO BE THE AWAY TEAM!

we played away last year and drew 1-1 the year before we played at home and won 2-0.. so it doesnt mean anything really.. and we arent exactly playin lesser oppeneants as they could come here top of the table, so if it means the team getting done over by lesser oppisition then if palace are top on boxing day then that means they will lose to us? win win situation

Am i right in thinking that before that 2-0 win a few seasons ago ( was it Coventry?) we'd gone quite a number of seasons without winning on Boxing Day?

I can certainly remember many occasions over the years having all of the Christmas cheer drained from me by a lacklustre City performance on Boxing Day.
