JACKS V PETERBOROUGH

Sat Dec 15, 2012 10:42 pm

I wonder what the attendance for the jerks v Peterborough would have been if that fixture was in the championship?
12,000 maybe?

I like slagging the jacks off whatever the weather, by saying this though was giving credit to our great attendance today and shows we are the biggest team in Wales really cos even though the jacks are in the premier league and deservedly so, they wouldn't have come near that sort of attendance against Peterborough, lighten up

So are you suggesting we now have 12,000 plastics that only come as we are a few places higher?

Have you never thought of the fact that during the same period of growth Cardiff have had, children from the local area have gone from not being old enough to go, to being old enough to go. Some parents wont let their children go until later due to safety concerns. Some will take their children really young. Also, these children just turning that corner seeing Cardiff doing well will support them due to pride rather than support a team from England. That does not make them a plastic. Its just the times went together well and things just fell into place.

The same will have happened this year. There will be kids this Christmas who will want the new red Cardiff City top because we are doing well, because we have Bellamy, etc. They will support their local team because of those factors and in 20 years time will become the norm, providing the Malaysians pay up and there is still a club to support.

Phoenix, the desire ability of the new stadium cannot be under valued.

Many families go to CCS that wouldn't dream of going to Ninian Park.

PhoenixFromTheFlames... wrote:So are you suggesting we now have 12,000 plastics that only come as we are a few places higher?

We've progressed a lot in 5 years. There have been a lot of changes. Since we've moved to the new stadium, we've had crowds of over 20,000 consistently.

Re: JACKS V PETERBOROUGH

Sun Dec 16, 2012 4:41 am

I agree with all those responses. My point was that sustained success had given Cardiff a new breed of fan which is now contributing to large crowds. Cardiff have been at a high level for a decade now and have been able to grow the fan base yearly.

It would be a mistake however to think that only applies to Cardiff. Swansea are now getting 20.000 week in week out in the league due to the same reasoning, they are now in their 5th year of high level football and the young generation are flocking to them.

To compare Cardiffs crowd against peterborough this season to what Swanseas would have been against them two or three years ago is a pointless exercise. I guess if they were relegated and then priced tickets at £10 hen they would have a sell out against Peterborough too.

What a stupid thread , I as a Swansea supporter recognise the fact you are averaging 1500 more than us a week , I hope that makes you feel better
I couldn't really give a toss mind because I've got the spurs game on my mind and maybe the possibility of us climbing to 5th in the premier league

Chuckles, they can still look forward to the match regardless of what they are doing. If they were posting during the match then you'd have a point. Maybe it's a good way to kill an hour before kick off.

Agree with your thoughts on the thread though :ayatollah:

Not in my mind, if I were going to watch CCFC the last thing is do is think "oh let's see what Jacks are posting"

It's obsession, pure and simple & both sets of fans are guilty of it.

Everyone's different though. The fact is everyday there are loads of swans threads, it's actually a better site than planetswamp. It's almost like a board covering both clubs at times.

Have to say!im amazed that 4 years back you were getting13k avs and now in your 20s its a case of how far you have come!
Yetnow we are doing the same its plastics and rugby fans???
Lets not forget you have been in tje champ a lot longer then us,play offs annd finals,fa cup and league cup finals!so of course your fan base has grown.
We are doing the same and kids now in strong hold cardiff towns talk about the swans.
Its a fact of life that the more press a team gets the the bigger there fan base is.
The longer we are in the top flight and you aint the more young fans will become swans fans.

the original Cardiff poster slags the Jacks off yet again about attendances, (getting a bit boring now), no other Cardiff fan has backed his thread up, in fact they have said how stupid it is and you come on here and say, and I quote "YOU LOT must have a really big inferiority complex" :? How do you define the word YOU LOT when it was only the op that stupidly made the thread with absolutely no back up from any other Cardiff fan?
