WHY WE'RE GOING UP!!

January, last season we started to fall away from the pack. February things
were getting worse. Small squad, tired, season starting to take its toll. We
did not strengthen for whatever the reason.

I was not here but can only go by the posts on here and what I saw on Cardiff
City Player... but we were struggling!!

Then in March we went on a 10 match unbeaten run, dour, unattractive but
ultimately effective performances with probably the smallest squad out of those
jostling for a play-off place........

But Mackay found a way. His players gritted their teeth and hung on doggedly
for points. Battled, fought and managed to get into that top 6.

Cardiff City will not fall away this season, not under Malky Mackay. His number
one asset (imo) is his ability to get 100% from his players even when they are
not playing well. He gets their mindsets right, they will not lie down. They are
100% committed to the cause.

We WILL buy in January, but even if the right deal cannot be struck (and that will
be the only reason we dont strengthen).. i believe this group of players will be
in the Premiership next season. Because there in no other team STRONGER than us.
...And I mean mentally stronger. Cos thats what it all comes down to in the end!!

It was even more impressive considering we had the cup games to play too, including the final.

Great post Taffy, and exactly how I feel about Malky and the team. In all other seasons we have done well to hang onto 2,3 even 4 better teams than us, this year we are in the top 2 in terms of first 11, squad and most importantly the right manager and the finantial backing if needed.

up until that bloody league cup final we were absolutely fantastic .... that final ruined us .... we lost confidence and crawled over the finish line! ..... we did it though with a brand new team ............ this year we`ve added quality and are deffo going up ... malkys eye for a bargin is second to none although i think kimbo was nothing to do with him but more about marketing [good player though]!
