Just one thing I don't get about this barrage thing. Am I right in saying it will go from cardiff, straight across to the english side of the severn? If that's the case then how will ships get up and down the estuary? That's a busy stretch of water for container ships etc, so how will they get past if there's a massive barrage in the way, or am I missing something Lol

Yes mate. If its a barrage there will be breaks in it to allow shipping through. If its the "tidal lagoon" option its beneath the surface. We won't see cheaper energy prices as its us that ultimately fund this. I see the sustainability argument but the elephant in the room is the location. People who specialise in this stuff say that Swansea is a better location as it won't effect shipping so much plus other benefits of being sited there. I don't see Peter Hain pushing for that and I'll tell you why - that's where he's located and his regular constituency live. Never really trusted the guy but he's a typical career politician I guess. So, yes to this type of thing but put in in the right location as advised by the experts. And I would like to be able to drive over it too - Somerset/Devon/Cornwall in minutes.
