julian Jenkins on talksport about safe standing

He actually said that this year is the first year where there's a noticeable drop in attendances and it's to do with the cost of going ti games.

Shame the presenter didn't ask him that rather than blaming the cost maybe they should look at the rebrand being the main reason.

You are thicker than i thought.
Loads and loads of clubs in the uk have lower attendances this season have they all had a rebrand? NO

Standing = more people fitting

More people fitting in = lower prices to make up total cost

More people fitting in = better atmosphere

Therefore standing = better atmosphere due to more people and lower prices.

Its win-win!

If anyone needs proof of that fact just look at the Bundesliga.

Case closed.

If we weren't rebranded our attendances would be higher, fact. I don't think any club in our position (playing squad, league position, cheap tickets when bought early) would have a significant drop in one season.

I know people who have stopped going due to the change, probably so does nearly everyone on this board

How many people in total?

By how many are the crowds down this season?

Are people just saying this because they can't really afford to go anymore?

People might not go because of the rebrand but that isn't the reason the attendance's are down. They have dropped all over the country in every league. That's a fact.

might be down cos of a few people, but then you got to think of people who are turning up to see Bellamy and other great players bought by the rebrand money!

Yeh, but how many of those are the same person.

Feller the rebrand has had little or no real effect on gates. Modern Football is the reason so
many dont bother any more. No swearing, no standing, no getting over-excited, no getting
wound up... SIT, enjoy the game, read your programme, go home. Any deviation from that
and you WILL be grassed up by a fellow 'fan'... Thats not just down the City, most Clubs have
the same shit.

Sadly, gates will rise again, but more than likely it'll be more boring bastards coming over from
the Rugby

"Oh aye butt, you really need to go down the Cardiff Football thing nowadays, all them hooligans
are gone now"

"No, butt, not for me all that, my wife goes everywhere with me and HATES the foul language"

"Dont worry bout that Yanto, i got a number you can ring... in secret like"

FFS its not even the 'main reason' you dont go.

Anyway, whats Tan still doing here? You said he was going last summer.

And why are you back on here? I thought you were gone for good after your odious Cancer jibes?

I know a few people who claim they dont go anymore because of the rebrand when in truth they havent been regulars for a few seasons now.

The OP falls in this bracket.

I know a few who went to every game before and no longer do, so it HAS had an effect.

Economy is the main factor - but those saying the rebrand hasn't had my effect at all are wrong.

Oh come off it, it's got f**k all to do with the rebrand! It's about money. The rebrand doesn't alter attendances significantly, it doesn't change jack shit on that front!

I dont know one single City fan who has stopped going to games because of the re-brand.

However i know plenty of people who do not go because they simply cannot afford to go. And that is purely because everybody has to tighten there belt at the moment.

I really cant understand all this bullshit all the time. it has been proved that every club are struggling with attendences and in fact we are one of the teams who have not been hit that hard because we have some great passionate fans (even if we seem to have lost our voices a little)

lets just drop the negativity and help push this club towards promotion. always someone wanted to be negative about something, We have a great team and a fantastic manager FFS lets just celebrate that!

your a tool, if we wernt rebranded we might not have had the money to buy the players we have in our current squad. therefore we wouldnt be top the league and attendances would probably be worse. if i had to choose to be blue or red, id obviously choose blue but im not really bothered because i like many fans realize it was easy to change to red so its easy to change back to blue. tan hasnt made his millins by being stupid hes a very smart business man and in the long run he'll do a lot more good then bad
