With a busy schedule ahead, Posh at home and an embarrassment of riches in centre mid- would you rest Whitts next week ?

Cant afford to take our foot off the pedal. Whitts must play

No

I was talking about this to my father last night. It would be a gamble but I think this team would still be too strong for Peterborough.
Marshall
Taylor
Turner
Connolly
McNaughton
Noone
Mutch
Gunnarrson
Conway
Gestede
Mason
Gives Bellamy, Helguson and Whittingham a well deserved rest. Obviously Hudson is suspended as well.

I wouldn't, the spine of the team are Marshall, Hudson and Whitts.
Hudson now suspended so I feel Whitts must play against Peterborough

I was always brought up with the mindset that you dont change a winning team but that has changed these days

Its an interesting one for Malky as he has been short of his early season performances in the past two games. We've just seen how rejuvenated Taylor has been after a game or so out. Maybe give him some bench time if we are comfortable in the second half next week.

You people are mad!
You dont rest star players around xmas, its when you need them most
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:03 pm
He doesn't need a rest, he's a model professional who can play 46 games a season.
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:27 pm
God no.
Tbh I think P'boro will be a lot tougher than people think.
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:37 pm
If Whitts gets rested and we fail to beat Peterborough, would you think it was a good idea then?
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:42 pm
we are not man united. best team all the time it has to be. he doesnt need a rest
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:45 pm
He can have a rest against Barrow or Macclesfield
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:48 pm
If Lionel Messi can cope with playing every single Barca game for the past 2 years, I'm sure Whittingham and any other player can play every game. If Whitts is looking a bit tired and jaded later in the season, just give him a few days off from training to recover.
Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:55 pm
You play your best team ! When Liverpool were dominant I am sure they won the league only using 14 players all season ?
Players will tell you they want to play every game and after a week's rest nobody will be "tired"
Sat Dec 08, 2012 6:53 pm
The team have got a full week, and a day, before the Peterborough game. That's long enough for Whitts, or anybody else, to re-charge their batteries. Besides, if we disrespect Posh, or anybody eles, we all know what can happen. Lets not get too big for our boots.
Sat Dec 08, 2012 7:27 pm
Does Whitts look jaded?
No! That's the answer to the question too

Didnt you want to cash in on Whitts?
Sat Dec 08, 2012 8:20 pm
he can have a rest in the summer
Sun Dec 09, 2012 1:02 am
Can see what your getting at but we need Whittingham for every game.. he will be the player that will be knocking balls through and be testing the keeper... hes due for a goal now.

Do you still think it would have been wise to rest key players for Peterborough? Unfortunately, some of the players had the same attitude as you, dismissing and underestimating Peterborough, which of course resulted in an abysmal performance and a well deserved defeat. A reminder that anyone can beat anyone in this division and no team should be taken lightly.

ironically we might have been better off dropping whitts for all the good he did
Mon Dec 17, 2012 9:56 am
I thought he was having a rest on Saturday, didnt even know he was playing
