Mark Hudson is your typical dive in front of everything, commanding and loud defender. He has come into his own in recent seasons and the only other defender with these attributes in England is John Terry. They are the only two that will launch themselves in front of the ball and not care where it hits them as long as the ball is kept out of the net.
In a previous decade Hudson would have easily been in the England team because this passion, this dedication to the team and country was respected and admired but these days this is not the case. He also chips in with his fair share of goals from set pieces as a proper captain should, leading by example.
Its a shame that these traits are no longer admired in modern society. We are so lucky to have this man as captain and he will take us to the promised land.
Deserves an England call up IMO as does Whittingham. The reason that England always struggle is they are afraid to use extremely good talent from lower down the system teams whereas teams like Italy, Netherlands, Germany, etc have no issue whatsoever selecting lesser known players and quite often its the international tournaments that makes them.

A lot of sense in there! though Hodgson doesn't seem to feel that same restriction I don't think.. look how many players he picks from Liverpool lol

what a load of nonsense.
Hudson is a good player at this level, but isnt even premiership quality, nowhere near england level.
and to say him and terry are the only ones who put their bodies on the line...... does every other single defender just stand there and watch the ball fly past them?

Who us the lesser known players that Germany put in? They are all top bunders 1 players! I even remember Lother mathaus (the most hated German player ever by the players themselves) getting in the 98 squad at the cost of memett scholl.
Hudson is championship level. Some players just aren't good enough. He might do a job for a few games here and there. But not a starter for me. I'm also doubting turner in the prem. think if we go u I'd like the majority of money to be spent on the defence, on quality not quantity.
