Men Of Harlech

Mon Nov 19, 2012 9:51 pm

Why don't city fans learn the words? We need to get ourselves a better atmosphere we can use it as an anthem like Liverpool with YNWA.

This pisses me off.

I sing every word and refuse to do the clap, clap crap. It seems City fans like the basic duh duh duh, clap, clap.

We can't half beat out a cracking la la la lalalala to Hey Jude though. Grrrrrr

Oh dear, what has happened to City. whatever happened to the good old chants.
Next we will be singing, we wish you a merry Christmas while supping mulled wine

i cant believe im about to say this but as a jack it's the one thing i have slight envy for you on, when we're at your ground and they play it - its a brilliant, rousing song to have! you do need to learn the words though.

Don't be silly, they don't allow alcohol in view of the match ;)

Re: Men Of Harlech

Pisses me off, I know the words, and every match there's one or two more around me who know the words. IMO if only a handful more people knew the words it would take off :ayatollah:

Re: Men Of Harlech

I sing the words every time it's played before kick off and so do a few people around me, it's easy to learn but most of our fans are too lazy. More effort should be put in to get people to learn the words.

The song is overated and it gets on my nerves :ayatollah:

Yer my family and me all sing it, and some others around us too. Maybe its too Welsh for some people, maybe they would rather sing God save the queen. make me relly laugh as I have even seen people on here talk about things being too Welsh, hahaha They must be right dicks, how can a Welsh club , in Wales, with a big Dragon on there shirts, and on the Stadium be too Welsh. Im sure some of these dicks are so brain dead they cant get there heads around the fact that Cardiff City is a Welsh club ,in Wales.

Likewise, a very easy song to learn, they even print it in the programme!!!

It's a shame people won't learn the words, i sing them every game :ayatollah:

Perhaps the club should put the lyrics up on the notice board.

They used to play Yma O Hyd at Ninian Park. Not sure why it isn't played anymore because that sends shivers down my spine :ayatollah:

I don't get it....

Wrexham yes, but why us.

Harlech is much closer to about 20 clubs than ours.

I'll be there, not the camp version, a rock or choir version

Not sure how you can say that when you lot sing Hymns and Arias, a Welsh rugby song.

We need new songs that are popular in the charts to keep up with the times.

No one wants to sing that song because its old, that is the truth. Only the older fans really care. Sad but true. You look at other clubs they are creating new songs every year for new players with twists on.

Heartbeat theme tune - Maxi, Maxi Rodriguez runs down the wing for me da da da da da da.

Smooth Criminal - Nani are you okay? are you okay? are you okay Nani?

The Zamora song to Thats Amore

Then the leighton baines one for you're so vain.

I just cant get enough is another song turned into a chant by numerous clubs.

Hey Jude is different as its really short, easy to learn and well known because of The Beatles' popularity. The fact that it is old doesn't matter.

Stoke City are great for innovative chants. That one aimed at Cole a couple of years ago was amazing to the Cheryl Cole song.

Honestly dont think any of our younger fans will be interested in learning MoH.

We would be better off coming up with new songs as a fans group, passing them on to the club and get leaflets given out at games for a while.

Yes and the words are very app to Cardiff City, we have been through hard times and were still here. All these very small minded people calling it a Rugby song , what fking assholes they are, it was never wrote as a Rugby song, and it would be great for a Top Welsh club to sing the chorus of a Welsh song. Thats all we need sing is the chorus but Cardiff Fans are too fking lazy to learn the words of any song , or maybe a lot of them cant read, as the word to MOH are in the program every game. Can you dream what even around 5,000 fans at a home game would sound like singing the ch0rus to Yma o Hyd or MOH it would be an Amazing sound.

Read what you've typed, you Welsh Nazi. You make a fool of yourself every time you post. If you don't like Cardiff City fans, then f**k off away from the Forum and away from Cardiff City.

You tell people to grow up, yet look at your signature!

I seem to remember that you said your son's name is Iolo and he is of "mixed race" and your wife is foreign (I forget which country she's from, Thailand, maybe), so I find it strange that you are a Welsh Nazi. What will happen when your son is picked on for not being "true Welsh?" Will you be accused of being a hypocrite, do you think?

Not a Welsh passport then?

The passport is not the issue, so try reading what I typed - get someone to help you, if it's too difficult for you.

I don't "knock most things Welsh" every time I can, I knock you when you embarrass yourself, CCFC and this messageboard. Please define your meaning of "plastic tw@t."

City is not a political agenda for your deluded Welsh language brigade, we are Cardiff City FOOTBALL club, not the national team
