Am looking to get a big new TV.
Current set up has 2 scart sockets (sky and DVD)...works well.
All the TV's I am looking at only have 1 scart socket, but several HDMI sockets (not got SKY HD).
Why only one scart ?

Are you sure the DVD and other boxes don't have a HDMI socket? Must be pretty old if they don't. Everything is going that way now. You can though buy a scart extension box thing for a few quid.
A tip on the HDMI leads. Don't bother paying a lot for one. They'll try and flog you an expensive one or say "this is the one you want for HD mate". The cheap leads do exactly the same thing and they perform just as well.
