Any one ever gone through with one of these? I had a phone call the other day and then had forms to sign posted to me for past loans and finance I've taken out. Don't know whether to go through with it though? Is it possible for your bank to blacklist you if you make a claim against them? Have no clue whatsoever when it comes to these things. Any help is appreciated.

If you have ever had PPI on a loan or credit card in the past contact the lender directly. All of the big retail banks have very clear instructions on their internet sites for you to make a claim. In fact most of the smaller lenders do to. The FSA have been all over this for a few years now and companies are required to make it very easy for people to make a claim. Don't use a claims management company as they will take a cut from you and frankly, they are all a bunch of unregulated cowboys.
The lenders interent site should provide you with all the documents / info you need to make the claim independantly. They are all obliged to determine the outcome of the claim witin about 8 weeks I beleive.
Typical claims for misselling are won by:
Claiming you were never informed that the loan had PPI
Were told you would only be able to have the loan if you took the PPI option
Didn't understand what the PPI was so was unable to determine whether or not the product was fit for you. For example, if you were in long term secure employment at the time with full sick pay for 6 months etc.
If you are self employed, the product shouldn't have been sold
Basically, unless you were sold over the phone and the call was recorded which contradicts the info you make in your claim, you have a decent chance of a payout.
Obviously all claims should be based on the truth.

In response to your other question - making a claim against the bank will have no impact on their relationship with you. They can certainly can't 'black list' you !!

Do yourself a favour though.Do it yourself.Don't go for these people that either ring you up or text you saying theres money waiting for you.All these PPI claimback firms will deduct 30% of any successful claim and its money for old rope. That money saving expert Martin(damm, can't remember his surname but I'm sure someone will put me right)has his own website that tells you how to go about it and its dead easy. Its also worth remembering that if you should fail with your attempt the next step would be to contact your local ombudsman who will act on your behalf. The banks don't argue with his decision and 8 out of 10 people who go to him are successful. The hard part is for most people is overcomming that big fear of big establishments like banks and like others have said they won't hold it against you.Just think of it as money they stole from you(which is true otherwise they wouldn't have been made to pay it back.)and go and get whats rightfully yours. My poor old uncle did it by himself and got over 17K.I say poor because he died before he had the chance to spend it,still my aunty's doing OK.

theres actually no such thing as a "black list" and your bank cant penalize you for claiming it back!

Be honest though. Are all these people that daft to take out something they didn't know they were taking out. I've taken many a loan an credit card since I was old enough to do so and it was always very clear to me!!
However if you can get one over the banks then I'm all for it!!!

i work for on eof the major banks investigating the mis selling of ppi and the biggest waste of money you can do is get a cmc to do it on your behalf. they dont have a clue, make up bullshit allegations and end up getting your case defended due to lack of evidence and contradictory info! best to contact the bank that underwrote the insurance and ask them to investigate it and give them a solid and legitimate reason you felt it was mis sold. a lot of the reasons listed above actually wont get you a payout these days! buit any further questions off anyone drop me a pm!
