in germany, when they teach history do they teach about WW1/WW2.
when they talk about hitler and the german army/people do they say "we lost the war ect, or They Lost"
when germans are watching band of brothers or Saving private ryan who's side are they on ?

My mate in university was brought up in Germany and he said there is a definite bias towards Germany there but it is all national pride. In America I know that they actually overplay America's role in WW2 and that they won in Vietnam. When you think about it, the curriculums come from the top down so national pride etc. is bound to be a factor in the teachings so that kids grow up loving their country.
If you teach a kid 'we lost in this war', 'we've not invented anything useful', 'all we do is sponge off other countries financially' then they are going to grow up more likely with a downbeat attitude towards the country. Some will be like meh, some will want to become of some importance to put their country on the map for something useful.

Well Hitler, after losing in WW1, certainly put his country on the map in his later endeavours.
