Firstly sorry i could not do an update last week hope this one makes up for it and you all enjoy it .....
First team players training today were ...mason,turner,hudson,taylor,noone,kim,kiss,lewis,ralls they were joined by hawkins mansaray and richards ....richards being a young goal keeper was replaced by adam mathews cousin liam mathews half way through the training game.....
Hawkins and Mansaray did very well up against older profesionals....Noone and kim saw lots of the ball ...hudson was very busy as was taylor ....whitts ,bellamy mcnoughts were no where to be seen .....connelly was doing 1 to 1 lots of twisting turning and jogging all with the ball (imo want start on saturday )..
Tommy smith did 1 to 1 endurance running then went for a swim i managed a quick word with him hes very upbeat and said fingers crossed 2 more weeks out only....some first teamers had day off i was told by rudy....
Majority of under 21s who played last night were in on there day off for a recovery session and swim ,they were joined by mcphail, conway and veikonja...ben nugent told me he went off last night with a back injury but was ok...
I spoke to kevin cooper (under 21s manager)he was very bullish about our back line last night, coulson ,ossilaja, nugent and declan john ,he said they were excelent and had every chance of becoming very good first team players in the not to distant future ...imo they are not the only ones ..we really do have a very good crop of youngsters coming through, coops told me how gutted every one was for kadeem harris who was having a stormer up untill he was forced off with an ankle injury which has swollen badly (scan required before we know how bad it is) ...
Ibby Monsaray is 20yrs old a defencive midfielder who is with us till january trying to prove he is worth a contract as he is just over an achillies injury and is still getting some pain however he told me it would not stop him playing next tuesday if selected (he did not play last night due to international clearance)he said he was very happy in his digs in fairwater and was enjoying trying to prove himself....
Ronnie hawkins is 18yrs old a central midfielder who likes getting stuck in ..he to is happy in his digs in penarth (he comes to us from tottenham) spurs had a lot of youth players and it was hard for him to get a game ..he said he felt he had a better chance of improving under our training regime than staying at spurs and he is with us until the end of this season was due to get some game time last night but that was scuppered when harris got injured.....
Finally after training malky and noonie were having a bit of verbal banter and i over heard malky say how old and noonie replied 27 (think it might be noonies birthday this week) and malky shouted back are you getting botox on your birthday and started laughing as did cooper noonie and me.
