Can he play in defence? :)

Would be a great signing but with smith and bellers back soon not sure we would need him.

Emmanuel Frimpong does not expect to be sold by Arsenal in January and is confident of staying at the club beyond the end of the season.

The midfielder envisages being sent out on loan again, having spent time on at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season.

And it has been reported Arsenal will then look to sell Frimpong in the New Year amid rumours his contract will expire in the summer of 2013.

But the Arsenal Academy graduate said on Twitter: "Subject to rumours am not leaving afc I am positive of going on loan this week which am really excited about and I am fully committed to afc. (sic)

"And am not in my last year or looking to be sold just to clear matters thank you and going on loan to get games and come back to arsenal."

Life among the Emirates also-rans is no life at all for a young footballer with a zest for the game – and Emmanuel Frimpong wants out... but only for a working holiday.

Frimpong has poured cold water on speculation that he will leave Arsenal in January, but has indicated that he would like to go out on loan.

Frimpong broke in to the Arsenal first-team squad last year and was then loaned to Wolves in January but a serious knee injury cut short his season.

The midfielder returned to action in September but has only played two games for the Gunners since.

That has prompted speculation the 20-year-old was set to leave the club, but Frimpong took to Twitter to deny that was the case.

The Ghanaian, who has 18 months left on his current deal, does want to go out on loan – with Wolves and Ipswich, who are managed by former Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy, both thought to be interested in the combative midfielder.

"Subject to rumours am not leaving afc I am positive of going on loan this week which am really excited about and I am fully committed to afc," said Frimpong, who has been at Arsenal since he was nine years old.

"And am not in my last year or looking to be sold just to clear matters thank you and going on loan to get games and cum back to arsenal."

As long as he can keep the number of red cards and appearances from Filip Kiss down, I'd welcome him.

Yeah, he is a tackling liability but we do need his sort of mould right now. A destructive force in the middle who will just break down play.
