I have no idea why there was not a minutes silence yesterday and I totally agree with those who know there should have been one, the guard of honour was emotional and that should have been done alongside the minutes silence.
But let us not forget that the players did wear poppies on their shirts, even if during the game some of them peeled off some of the shirts, so I don't believe that the club did not wish to pay respects to the fallen heroes.
There was a monumental mistake in not having the minutes silence but let's not start assuming that the club never wanted to pay the respects either.
Maybe the club could explain the decision not to have the minutes silence through a statement on the official site rather than let it fester and continue to upset people.

I don't think the club can give any reason, there is no excuse.
I don't believe for a minute it was vetoed by the club. I believe there was a total cock up and it was near enough forgotten. The crowd went hushed when the ref took the middle, they were EXPECTING the minutes silence.
This seems just an appalling mistake. I cannot understand why even the ref didn't say something, he must have been getting ready for the Rememberance.

There is no excuse at all . Stop trying to defend the indefensible . It's a downright disgrace and clearly shows the dis contempt of the total board of directors at your football club - simple as.

Don't give trolls the time of day. Let them fester in their little pit of suppressed anger.

I was surprised we didn't have a minute silence but would just like to know how many of all those complaining about it on here took the time to go to a service today

I don't know why there wasn't a minute's silence but to be honest I am a believer that the minute's silence should only be on the 11th or Remembrance Sunday. I do feel it is being made a bit gimmicky with glittery poppies and poppies being stitched into the tops.
That's my view though and as someone quite rightly said, isn't having the free will to have an opinion why those that lost their lives in the ultimate sacrifice did so?
I'm just going to have my own quiet view on the issue and the reasons as to why the club did what it did or didn't do are irrelevant to me to be honest.
