I'm not his biggest fan but I thought he did well today.

I said to the guy behind me he is improving every game. I just hope he can stay injury free for a few months.
Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:08 pm
hes just tall, he brings nothing to the game. bar a flick on
Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:12 pm
Hes dire lets be real here, how hes a pro footballer i never know

Tend to agree. Suppose it's no surprise the more he plays the better he gets as he hasn't played a lot of football for ages. Worked hard today too
Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:16 pm
What did he do today?
When did he ever have the ball at his feet? Apart from that decent run he was on the end of the rest of the time I think he had half a touch.
Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:16 pm
I had to eat my words the last few weeks when he set up 2 lovely goals with little downward headers.
Fantastic goal today by Hudson but actually think it was an easy header for gestede to score but he totally missed the ball

I've said before and i'll say again, he is nowhere near as it's popular to make out. He brings something different to the table and you can clearly see theyve been working hard on his positional play and his, flick ons (aiming for someone instead of just aimlessly heading it on) he'll never look the easiest on the eye when he picks the ball up and running at defenders but niether does andy carroll and he cost £35 million.
Rudy will be a handful for anyone and malky was going mental when he wasnt on his toes for one of noones crosses. If they can instill a bit of nastiness in him to add to his strength i am telling you, there wont be a defender in the league who will enjoy playing against him.
Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:29 pm
I have said before he causes problems when he comes on not because of his footballin ability but because of his size and presence it must be a nitemare for a tired defender seeing helguson goin off but then someone like rudy replacing him for that reason alone i think he is useful to have in the squad.

You can't use Andy Caroll's transfer fee to try to justify Rudy. Everyone who isn't Kenny Dalglish can see that £35 million is a ridiculously exaggerated sum.
As for improving him, he's 24. It's not like he's some fresh faced young lad who's only just broken onto the scene.
He was released by a Ligue 2 side and spent most of the time in France playing for 3rd and 4th tier sides.
He's never gone more than 4 games in a row without being injured and every time he plays 90 minutes he gets injured in the next game.
A player of his height should win every ball that's launched up to him but a combination of his lack of balance and poor timing of the jump means that he regularly misses simple headers and usually ends up on the floor afterwards.
I'll cheer him on when he crosses the line but that doesn't mean that I have to pretend he's anything but the worst player in the squad.

I think he is a right handful and really unsettles the defenders marking him. The headers he wins at both ends are top draw. Give him some game time we may just see some goals too.

He is making himself a handful for defenders to cope with when he comes on, so he is doing the job Malky wants him to do. Keep it going Rudy

if you start rudy, then sub him for a footballer you would see the difference, hes not an 18 yr old kid. who you allow for mistakes

Aramore,
I know andy carroll isnt worth 35 million but i'm just using that point to say that rudy is definitely worth a place in our squad. I totally disagree with you, if you are saying he's shit in the air! He wins far more than he loses and the more game time he's getting he's winning more and more.
I dont particularly care what league he previously played in . Vardy played for fleetwood in the conference yet leicester just paid over a million for him at 24.
The only thing i will agree with you about is his injury record, but surely thats a good reason to cut the guy some slack. We obvjously havent seen the best of the guy cos he keeps getting injured before he reaches match fitness. I agree there is only so long you can persist with someone who keeps getting the same injuries but if can have a spell without getting injured again i think he'll be a good squad player for us.

A striker who does not look remotely like scoring a goal.
Wins some headers, makes a nuisance of himself - yes.
A player good enough for a team challenging at the top of the Championship? Not for me I'm afraid.
Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:22 pm
Did the simple things when he came on, kept the ball moving, won a few flick on's. Simple but effective.
Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:24 pm
I give up. I really do. f**k it.

I m not his biggest fan have slated him on this forum. But in all honesty he didnt do a lot wrong today.

His ability in the best but I will never boo or moan about a player wearing the shirt.
Hes actually created 3/4 goals.
^^^
Hes a striker to win headers and bring others into play.

Ask the Leicester fans what they think of Vardy.

He's a poor mans Leo Fortune West.
Its fine to have a nuisance player in League 1 or 2 but its not good enough for a premiership chasing team I am afraid.
Sun Nov 11, 2012 12:17 am
I fully blame Gestede for our home form and for us leaking goals away.
Sun Nov 11, 2012 1:26 am
Not the best player but did well today and made an impact, impressive but inconsistent.
Sun Nov 11, 2012 1:40 am
we might as well stick hudson or turner up front if they want to give the defence a handful

Maybe but why move a player when you have someone with experience in a striking position. He did well today and deserves credit.
