why does whittingham always go quiet?

Tue Nov 06, 2012 11:36 pm

he starts the season storming he is capable of finishing as top scorer, but malky feels its better to waste 10-15 potential goals by putting him deep , even though we all know whittingham is our last line of match winning performances when bellamy is injured and we have sub standard championship top 6 strikers

kiss should be used more for this role... breaking up play, winning the ball etc.. its pointless having whitts playing if hes going to be camped in our own half..

Away from home, you need to play 3 in the middle, one attacking Midfielder and two defensive midfielders.

Whitts needs to be the attacking midfielder but lately is always playing deep collecting the ball from the central defenders as he is very comfortable on the ball and very good at playing the ball out of defence. His passing skills are however needed further up the pitch especially away from home and whilst is defending has improved he doesn't offer the physical presence that Mutch offers. We really are missing Mutch right now

Same reason why he hasn't left for the Premier league yet.
