goalkeepers
marshall - premier league quality
joe lewis - brilliant keeper too good to be a number 2

cant ask any more from the goalkeepers in our squad both good enough for premier league

defence
mcnaughton - future cardiff legend allways gives 100% , best right back in the league
hudson - decent at this level , too slow and error prone for a top team
turner - solid centre back with potentially a big future ahead of him
taylor - too slow , scared to go forward gets beat for too easily by tricky wingers
connolly - good all rounder i suppose but better than blake ??? i think not
nugent - really want to see this youngster break through looks quality

very low on numbers for a promotion chasing squad and think this is where malkey has messed up through the summer especially the loss of gerrard and blake with no real replacement

midfield

whittingham - absolute quality no need to say any more
gunnarsson - solid defensive midfielder loads of experiance and gets up to support in attack , 1st choice for me .
cowie - runs all day but ball control is poor , distribution is poor and tackling is recklace at times
kiss - solid def mid player will get better and better with experiance
conway - reminds me of koumas either brilliant or non existant
kim bo kyung - great touches and flicks but too small for championship and is not a winger as hes been played .
mutch - fantastic potential cant wait till hes fit again
noone - quick ,tricky ,direct , scores goals, allways looks for the ball but cant cross lol great little player though will improve
frei - amazing ball control shame hes on loan
mcphail - great servant , the guy would settle us down away from home with his passing abilities .
smith - quality at this level big miss in the current side
harris - ???? nothing to say as he has been ignored for over a year
ralls - exciting young prospect who seems to have fallen off the radar ???

our midfield is probably one of the strongest in the championship but we dont seem able to find the right combination and starting formation to get the best out of a very talented bunch of players ? should be the managers job but he doesnt seem to be able work it out either .

strikers

bellamy - simply the best forward in this division when fit but sadly injury prone
maynard - fantastic striker gutted he got so badly injured
helgusson - great as a back up striker if you need to hold the bal up but not a main striker to start every game
mason - so much potential but needs to play and settle up front not keep having to drop into midfield
gestede - hmmm hard one because can be quite effective but just to slow and awkward looking ? undecided
velinkonja - well certainly seems to bang in the goals in reserves and for his ex teams but no chances at city so far !

good combination and diffrent styles of strikers especially with smith also able to play up front , but , malkey seems to allways go for the same players whether there playing well or not . every change he makes during a game is like for like ( ie - heidur for rudy ) and doesnt seem to have the bollocks to go for broke when needed !. 1 up front away from home is very defensive especially with the talent in this squad and makes him look tactically inept at times .theres got to be a winning combination in there somewhere ?

management

malkey is a bright promising young manager in my eyes but sadly i think a big job like this with the money hes had to spend is slightly too big for him at this moment in his career , i think he really needs to go out and get an experianced manager to work alongside him and advise him sometimes . he needs more bottle in tight matches not just try to sit back and hope we come through games !
he allways makes excuses like the referee had a bad game or individual errors cost us , never once have i heard him come out and say " i may have made mistakes in the build up to the game and in my team selection/ tactics . i would rather an honest guy in charge who is man enough to take the blame for his mistakes like holloway than a moaner and blamer like hes turning out to be .

verdict

we have the goalkeepers ,defence is ok needs more numbers for competition , midfiels is quality , strikers are quality ,management is very debateable .
sorry to say it but it all leads down to one man at the end of the day and thats malkey , it might not be a knee jerk reaction to have him replaced with a experianced manager it may be the only option soon if he doesnt improve his game cos at the moment he is off form and losing the faith of the fans he had in the palm of his hand just 6 months ago ! what happened to the man who got involved with the fans ? what happened to the smiley appreciative guy who gave off good vibes ? what happened to the guy who wasnt scared to make changes for the first 6 months of your tenure ? cmon malkey get back to the way you were when you first arrived thats why everybody liked you because you were approachable and like one of us , not a distant stressed out man who looks drained and under pressure . i hope he turns things round because he could go on to be a city great in time hes got the potential just needs solid advice from an experianced manager like freedman has with lennie .
