Is our Club Lost?

Tue Nov 06, 2012 3:58 pm

The corporate cows have their cash in place and slowly but surely the old ways of our home games will be gone.
Those who don't like the prawn sandwich brigade and all that comes with it at home games had better start attending away games if they wish to be a part if a vocal support.
What tipped it for me was Bolton on Saturday. Not the behaviour of our supporters or the stewards, but that of the former premier league supporters Bolton.
They didn't make a peep until the goals went in and then almost immediately sat back down.

I've spoken to a few prem supporters and they all seem to say the same thing "if you make any sort of gesture towards the away following them you get warned or worse".
Tan is ploughing the field of the seeds that Sam had planted.
We are going into the premier league and we will be another corperate club.

Like it or lump it.

Quite surprised to hear that about the Bolton fans, the Reebok was one of the better away atmospheres with the Swans last season? (They were in the relegation scrap by then so maybe they were a bit more vocal at the time?)

The atmosphere at the Liberty hasn't suffered in the Premier League, Chelsea at the weekend was absolutely rocking, but quite a few grounds have surprised me, the lack of atmosphere from the Arsenal fans at the Emirates was dreadful.

Maybe just a case that the Bolton probably expected to walk the championship this year and now the harsh realities are kicking in.

Atmosphere at a lot of grounds has dipped be it champ clubs or prem clubs.

I think the biggest problem is repetition, for us we have been in the championship for a number of years now. Most fans get bored going to the same grounds and away numbers drop. IMO atmosphere is generated through home and away fans rather than large home grounds and I think thats also the biggest problem the CCS has.

For Swansea they are playing new teams, with big followings and the atmosphere will improve and I think the same would happen if we should go up.

Everytime I read this title I keep imagine the team on a bus driving around London lost on the way to The Valley

All seater stadiums are not good for atmosphere but lets blame our supporters and no one else, also we have new fans like OAPs, children and more women attending, these are people who never would have attended ninian park. Nothing wrong with our stadium at all with 23000 attendances :ayatollah:
