Donaldinho

When Cowie first signed for the Bluebirds the city faithful praised him for his energy and endless chasing for lost causes. Now that we have signed more glamorous/creative players he is slammed for being a favourite of the manager. How fickle are we as last week he was brilliant. When most people had gone home or were in the bar, the subs were doing warm down sprints on the pitch. There was one other player as well - Cowie. A great professional. So get off his back and look at what he does not what he doesn't do. If you we're in the trenches he would be right there with you and giving it some. We will need players like this in the Winter months.

Yep couldnt agree more
Still dont know how malky decided it would make sense to play cowie out wide though
expect him to be on the bench when we have a fully fit squad but will stand up and be counted when called upon

I liked him last season,
especially the first 12 games... ,he was banging in goals left right centre, shooting from outside the box making runs into the box....
running around more than any other player...

Did he get bored or something

Cardiff fans generally are amongst the worst fans going though. Always need to moan about someone: Helgusson, McPhail, Cowie, Hudson, Bothroyd, all given shit from Cardiff fans. It's best to just ignore it, or use it to know which people can form their own opinions and those that just follow.

In a good complete squad you need multiple types of players for one roll.

Malky wants to have someone that can tackle, run, have a lot of energy and keep going in midfield.

Our primary player for this is Smith followed by Cowie and then probably Kiss.

So when all fit that seems to be the order they are used: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19384124

However we had an injury to Mutch and Gunnarson hasn't been at the levels he was last season (unfortunately) so Cowie came into a more central position. Then we had an injury to Smith too so Cowie is more likely to play.

It's sad that a player can score a penalty in a League Cup final and be treated so poorly by his own fans. It's worse that ANY defeat is somehow his fault.

But hell maybe it's because Malky loves him, or won't drop him because he's scottish, he's never dropped Kev McNaughton has he?
