.i saw him a few times playing with his band when he co headlined a tour with hanoi rocks.was messed up on smack though.youtube has some great vids of him and the dolls.a young johnny thunders before the smack took hold was something to behold.he/they should have been MASSIVE.i,m no guiter player but from what i can gather he was a tidy player.my mate who is a guiterist says he,s not the best technicaly but as an inovater he is right up there.j.t loved keef.johnny had his own orignal style.when he died he left feck all to steve jones as he,d a;ready had all his riffs and solos off him
didn,t j.t live in leeds for a while?if his kids could have a quid for every guiter player who had been influenced by him they could retire and live in beverly hills.

I worked several dates of that tour mate - both great live bands. Hanoi Rocks never got over losing Razzle - he was a friend of mine, and was a really nice unpretentious guy. Everything you say up there is true and JT was alongside Ron Asheton and James Williamson [The Stooges] the daddy of the punk/glam/sleaze rock sound. He's influenced so many others without ever getting the recognition not just in their playing styles but in image too. His pisstake Steve Jones riffing in London Boys is top notch. I do believe you are right about him living in Leeds but not sure. RIP JT...
