TEAM V BOLTON?

Mon Oct 29, 2012 10:33 am

Despite our home form being awesome, we all know deep down that Malky is highly likely to opt for a 4-5-1 formation on Saturday at the Reebok.

Given our performance was excellent on Saturday, nobody deserves to be dropped but if Malky will do his usual away game tactic and floods midfield could this be an option...

Kim played very well against Burnley but didn't provide much width, so could he do a job centrally playing closer to Heider?

This would free up a place out wide for Kerim Frei to start - he looked sharp and very very quick when he came on Saturday and if he's only on loan for a month it makes sense to use him.

It wont be an easy game with it being Dougie Freedman's first game but we are top of the league and I think we should play 4-4-2 and go for the throat, but if it has to be 4-5-1, I'd like to see this set up as I think we could cause problems.

I agree, but I would be surprised if we set up 4-4-2.

same we win two at home playing 4-4-2 then go away and play 4-5-1 and its like a diffrent team with shit football but only MM knows why i would get it if results followed but there not away :ayatollah:

I don't think we played 4-4-2 on Saturday I think it was more 4-1-3-2. I think this could work away from home too. Cowie sweeping in front of the back four Whitts playing central of a midfield 3.
With Noone and Kimbo wide, and Mason playing just behind HH. Then Frei coming on against tired legs.
I really think we should play more offensive away from home, its as if we let the home side attack us and we camp out on the edge of our box, giving the home side encouragement instead of attacking them from the start.
If we attack from the start and push Bolton back for example, the pressure would soon be on them, from their fans and trying to impress their new manager.

i think a 451 looks a lot better with frei and noone on the wings.

However, he cannot surely drop anyone from the side that beat Burnely? So i expect to see the same team and same formation.

Hope you're right and Malky goes in with a 4-4-2.

We're top of the league - Bolton should be worried about us, not the other way round :old:

Cant see Malky changing the team from last week - except maybe Mason dropping into midfield more to make it a 4-5-1 (Malky's away formation).

After his performance midweek for the development team, I can see Velikonja getting on the bench now.

Whitts needs to be playing the attacking central Midfielder and no one else. Anyone that thinks different deserves to be raped by jonny Vegas :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think it'll be the same team as against Burnley. But Mason will drop deeper into midfield.

The only personel change I could see is maybe Conway for Kim to be a bit more solid in midfield.
