Sure there is a ruling where the game gets cancelled if a team has so many players sent off. Anyone know?

Technically there isn't, but referees in this country are advised to abanadon a game after one side has had 5 sent off.

I thought it was if you had 7men with 4sendings off, i remember us years ago away to cambridge utd we drew the game somehow but finished with 8men it was mad and somebody said in the end if we had one more sent off 3points go to the other team but we survived somehow, dont know if the rules changed now this was years ago :ayatollah:

Law 3 - A referee cannot start or restart a game if one team has less than 7 players.

Law 3 - A match is played by two teams, each consisting of not more than eleven
players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. A match may not start if either team
consists of fewer than seven players

Interpretation of the Laws of the Game and Guidelines for Referees

Minimum number of players
If the rules of a competition state that all of the players and substitutes must be
named before kick-off and a team begins a match with fewer than 11 players,
only the players named in the starting line-up may complete the 11 upon their
arrival.

Although a match may not START if either team consists of fewer than seven
players, the minimum number of players in a team required for a match to
CONTINUE is left to the discretion of member associations. However, it is the
opinion of the International F.A. Board that a match should not continue if
there are fewer than seven players in either team.

If a team has fewer than seven players because one or more players has
deliberately left the field of play, the referee is not obliged to stop the match
and the advantage may be played. In such cases, the referee must not allow
the match to resume after the ball has gone out of play if a team does not
have the minimum number of seven players.

When I was playing FIFA in my younger days, you had to have had four men sent off for the game to abandoned. So there

You have to have 7 players. Swansea had 4 players sent off in a league cup game a few years back and one of their players was limping off. He had to stay on the pitch otherwise the game would be abandoned as they had used all three subs.

It's definately minimum of 7 players for the game to continue.
