FAO CARL CURTIS-CRITICAL!!!

Sat Oct 27, 2012 8:06 pm

was wondering about when u sit-in(amongst other chosen fans)at these meetings with the city directors if anybody stands up and tells them about our concerns about this shit experience that is the CCS.It was the worst ever today despite our team producing a great performance.we need this sorted out quickly or more fans will just f**k off.yet again a number of us tried singing and everyone turned around and stared like cretins.got to feel sorry for the players though-i bet they are puzzled by it.absolutely horrendous today, the most boring stadium on the planet!

we need to make this stadium zonal-areas that cater for all types of fans and get them all together, not dotted about all over the place.

It's ok, I am in a stable condition this evening

Serious though, the atmosphere has been discussed many times and there have been meetings held (not with directors) to discuss ideas to try and create an atmosphere.

From one particular meeting I suggested having a live band in the concourse before the game and this idea was employed several weeks later, at the same meeting Gwyn suggested about having a drum and obviously we had that last season but that seems to have disappeared.

I have certainly requested on a number of occasions to swap the Canton and Family stands but that is continually dismissed and the answer that is constantly given is that it is the fans who create the atmosphere and not the stand in which they sit.

Carl, now that we have a new CEO (who seems very open with the fans), do you think he would have a different opinion on the Canton/Grange end swap? :ayatollah:

Its never been down to the CEO's or The Riddler or Tan, its been our stadium manager Wayne Nash and then in consultation with the police. We could swop, but with heavier police costs, but I personally think it would be worth it as 99% of fans know they cant get away with causing trouble in stadiums nowadays.
The Atmosphere would increase ten fold. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Unless we get an area of 3-4k where people can stand and chant there tits off as much as they like without being told to sit down or snarled at by some buck tooth tash looking hitler guy and his wife nothing will change in the CCS because people will snap this area up who want to be there and chant at the moment everyones spread all over so shit dies out before it gets going these days. :ayatollah:

firstly thanx to carl 4 your reply, but im afraid it is where you stand.in my block there's old people, women, young kids, and a few lads. the lads dont want to be in amongst these people and they don't want us around them also.make the ground zonal and catergorise each zone i.e-family zone, standing zone, all lads only zone etc.oh and piss heads only zone!!

1/ swap the Canton and Grange end
2/ sack Wayne Nash
3/ have our blue shirts back and correct badge
4 / A blockers of the grandstand at Ninian park were not allowed to sit next to each other season ticket wise. Remedy this.

The old grange end was fuelled by the near by away fans - and this then had an effect on the rest of the stadium. The atmosphere today was an embarrassment especially given we were top of the league 2, 3, 4 goals up and still nothing!  I remember going to Reading around 4 years ago and thought their home support were terrible - we are now I fear even worse! I feel sick and think I will be sticking to away games only in future!

You may as well give up on the Canton / Grange swap idea. It will never happen.

The lower policing costs and lack of potential flashpoints far outweigh whatever could be gained in atmosphere.

The Canton Stand is hardly bursting at the seems so if anyone in the Ninian Stand wants to move across to strengthen the singing area there should be no stopping them. But I would assume that fans are more concerned about the quality of their seat location than the atmosphere.

Or put more of the Canton fans in the ninian stand.Situate families next to eachother (away right hand side) that would reduce cost on that side. then if the police deemed it necessary they could put more officers on the left without the club enduring more charges.
You could reduce the cost of the first few blocks and have a price set between ninian stand prices and canton stand. The away fans who look for a bit of banter in the game will always go to the right where our fans would be. In the end it would only require the ticket office to do some tweaking to the system. The police would more likely to accept the proposel considering the trouble could only come from one side, fans would be louder becuase they would be more in sync and not have the delay between canton and ninian. standing could also be implemented using a similar system to what what we have in the canton,if the police dont want standing next to the fence put that blue netting up.
only a thought, bigger one than usual though

And then ticket prices will go up even more. The clubs losing enough money as it is so why should they fork out a lot more on policing costs.

Anything that will actually change the atmosphere for the better the club will not entertain. All they keep banging on about is a Fooking drum. Useless (pardon the pun)

Re: FAO CARL CURTIS-CRITICAL!!!

Sat Oct 27, 2012 11:28 pm

Atmosphere has been done to death but unfortunately i think live bands etc will have little effect on the atmosphere only way it will improve is to swap canton/family stand round or make the 2 blocks in the ninian nearest the away fans all standing.

You and the other messiah suggested a live band and a drum?

Alert, alert the nouveaux fan police.

Glad you two fan spokesman know your stuff.

Laughing again.

I'm a massive critic of the atmosphere but really enjoyed today.
In the ninian 117.
Its no galatasaray or even bob bank but it was the bets I have experienced this season.

How this is Carl or Annis fault is beyond me - as I don't think
Either planned the seating or designed the acoustics.

However, I agree - for atop o the league team - we are way behind on the fire and passion
