Must admit, I was someone who was a little mystified by his continued inclusion - but from what I've heard he has been outstanding last couple of games, proved me very wrong. Fair play to him!

He is world class. Never slated him. Have faith in every single player which is not something I could have said under Jones. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Brilliant performance today, glad I'm not the only one who thinks that!

Re: Don cowie

Ive never had an issue with Cowie BUT ive had an issue with Malky playing him out of position on the wings ahead of others who are in the squad to play them positions!
As today, and tuesday showed, played in his natural position as a box to box midfielder breaking up play, harasing midfielders he's outstanding :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yes he is. Works his socks off tirelessly wherever the manager asks him to play. Does not moan, does the job to the best he can and just gets on with things. He is a true hard worker. Chases everything down in the part of the field he is to force errors.

Malky knows what he is doing when he is selecting him because he has numerous qualities. His job is like Helguson's, its not pretty but its very effective and allows others to probe and do what they do best. The guy is an animal. Messi probably has a poster of Cowie on his bedroom wall. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Been great in his best position. Thing is, who can all the whingers slag off every game now?

Superb game today ... Such a different player in the middle than on the wings! :ayatollah:

Re: Don cowie

Cowie done a lot of donkey work without being spectacular. But and a big but Whitts should be playing in that position, keeping him in front of the back 4 is criminal. Cowie should be playing the deeper roll.
This is my opinion and mine only as he is wasted where he is.

Agree with all the positive remarks, he was immense today, ran his socks off and semed to be everywhere on the pitch, he's an unsung hero. :ayatollah:

He proved me wrong for today.

Cowie was immense today and tuesday. The amount of play he broke up today was incredibleand he hardly gave the ball away after winning it.

While i understand what you are saying about Whitts, i think it would have been impossible to play better than he did today. He controlled the pace of the game and orchestrated everything we did today.

Absolutely right. I can't believe what game some people are watching

world class is going a tad to far!! done well in the last two games in the central role where he was a key for watford when they had danny graham. i would prefer him to be deeper than whitts though and think he would be better there.

would i still replace him with mutch when fit? yes!

Same here. One of my mates, who sits by me in the CCS, pointed Cowie out late on when he ran the width of the pitch to stop a Burnley player advancing. He could possibly be the fittest and hardest working player currently at Cardiff City.

Yep, he certainly has, Lee. I haven't always been a fan of his, probably due to the fact that I've felt he's been favoured by Malky, occasionally, over others who could've done a better job, out wide. He was outstanding yesterday and if all our players put in that much effort every game, we would win the league by a mile.

Re: Don cowie

Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:11 pm

He was brilliant last season (even though he was playing out wide) and he's been very good when he's been called upon this season. Excellent player.

Re: Don cowie

Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:38 pm

Tenacious and hard working covered so much ground and played with intensity closing down players, I know he has a reputation for being extremely fit compared to his fellow pros, I think Malkies found the best position for him CM. Great to see him there, if he's wide he doesn't have the X factor needed to go past players and attack, however in my opinion he's developing a great strength in being the battler in c mid. He covered for anyone that pushed forward against Burnley! Cracking game, it could be the secret find of the season!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
