' We can be promoted or WILL BE PROMOTED '

If we are to achieve promotion this season then, we need to sign a ' TARGET MAN ' not wait till January and ANOTHER STRIKER should of been brought in immediately to cover Maynard once they new he was out for at least 6 months.
Malky spent millions on Maynard, so you have to replace him as he was Malky's NO1 signing.
Kim and Velkonja dont seem to be at this current time in Malky's thoughts as maybe he feels they are not the answer, who knows, only Malky himself.

Blackburn sign Cameron Jerome and we sign Kerim Frei, any comments ?
Blackburn spent £8 mill on Rhodes, thats what we have to compete with this season and every season, teams coming down from the Premier league and getting parachute payments.
Leicester/Brighton/Bolton/Wolves/Forest and even Huddersfield look like they will be up there come May, what I am saying is only 2 of us can make the top 2, so we need to be stronger than them, even Malky admitted in the past, that those with the best quality squads and keep strengthening go up, so we need to keep doing this in my opinion now.

Goalies good. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
Our central defence is good. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
Our Midfield is complete. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We need 2 fullbacks that are equal or better than than we have already got and we need them ' NOW ' to cover our present ones to have strength in depths.

Of the 10 players that Malky brought in this summer only 4 are currently playing in our first 11.
Rem injuries and suspensions will hit us.

We have gone 90% of the way with our squad and spent £12mill, so why risk it now and not spend a bit on the extra !0%.
Vincent Tan wants Premier League, so in my opinion he has to complete what he started, I fear for us if we fail this season.

Now rem I am 100% behind Malky and believe no matter what our fans should give him their 100% support no matter what till May 2013. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I understand the Frei signing - Malky saw the lack of pace and flair when Bellers and Smith were out and realised that we needed someone there to bring that over the next month.

I reckon Velikonja should be getting more chances, as soon as Maynard got injured Velikonja seemed to go down the pecking order - give him his chance and maybe Malky will be pleased. However we do need another striker - what if Helguson got injured? We do have Mason but he isn't really the big strong target man. I'm happy with how Helguson is playing but he needs support.

Jason Roberts is the man! Played 30 mins for reading this year! Pull out all stops and get him Malky!

Neil Disson
I guess we do need to cover for injuries and suspensions etc, and our current loan signing looks like a good start to me. Blackburn have bought Cameron Jerome, who in my opinion has already peaked in his career, and we invest in a youngster. Blackburn aint got a Manager as yet and we have - a quality guy too - who knows his stauff. Panic buying from Blackburn I reckon. One or two in the transfer window for sure, probably front players who can become target men. All our purchases have been pretty decent so far, and I see no reason for that to change. Come May we will be toasting success for sure!

Neil Wixon
I agree we need 2 full back Annis,my oppinions Malky must try out Velkijorna with Helguson till january till malky get a new striker

When it comes to strikers, I believe there are one or two plausible signings from the Premier League...

John Guidetti (Man City) - Former Feyenoord, who scored 20 goals in 23 games during his loan stint in Holland.
Kenwyne Jones (Stoke City) - Struggling to get a game under Pulis, but could be a real threat in the Championship.
Apostolos Vellios (Everton) - Again, struggling to get a game in the PL, but still has plenty potential at the age of 20.
Federico Macheda (Man Utd) - Not sure if it would work out well, but the lad's in dire need of a game.
Sammy Ameobi (Newcastle Utd) - Fantastic prospect. Strong, fast, and has a decent shot on him.

As for defensive cover, I think Malky needs to make use of his friendship with Brenda at Anfield...

Jon Flanagan (Liverpool) - Promising right-back who made his professional debut against Man City in a 3-0 win.
Jack Robinson (Liverpool) - Again, promising, but this time a left back.

Sign some up, Malky!

Would love to see Guidetti, Flanagan and Robinson here personally. :D

Jerome would have been a good one before Blackburn had him - Jason Roberts would be perfect, he's already proven once what he's worth why not again?

Blackburn payed 8 million for Rhodes as they have parachute payments from EPL we dont have that yet.

We are going up, firmly believe this is going to be our season. We are having some real bad luck on the injury front right now but as long as we bring in a couple of good loan signings to compensate for that and we strengthen in January then I really do believe we can win this division. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Jason Roberts no thanks. More interested in off field activities this season.

Has Jerome signed for them?

I've seen they've inquired about him but they haven't completed the signing.

Nothing to stop us going for him.

I thought I'd seen somewhere that they had sealed a loan deal for him... after searching around I guess not!

Pretty sure I did see Sky post it last night but it's been taken down since then.

Please no panic buys we left that stuff behind when we got rid of jones . Malky has proved patience is the way and had a cracking squad until maynard got injured.
We are more than good enough and we can wait until january if need be..

I disagree Jinks, we are too light defensively and we definitely need the striker (target man).

Many points can be won or lost between now and January and that could be the difference between automatic promotion or not, a game lost instead of drawn, a game drawn instead of won.

We have gone an extremely long way to building a squad to challenge at the top of this league but it is no cake walk and we must give ourselves every possibility to succeed.

The bench does not hold the answers if McNaughton or Taylor get injured or even worse any two of defenders are out because of injury or suspension at the same time.

Helguson is not a lone striker, he could possibly be the striker to play off a target man but we need to add a few more players if we really want to succeed.

NJ, Tan has gone well past that, in fact to the point of no return, we now need promotion, no matter what.

I tend to agree.

I also think those who say he is in too deep to pull the plug are kidding themselves. A smart businessman knows when to cut his losses rather than to go chasing them.

To be honest, everything he is doing is completely mystifying. There is no golden goose in the Premier League really. At least not unless a club is prepared to keep costs down as much as possible and try and remain competitive, which most don't.

To be fair NJ, I find it difficult to accept that a man who will have put in a possible £70-80million walking away, he is rich but to walk away from a tenth of your fortune would be madness surely ?

As you say it is mystifying and I agree but tend to think that China is where his market is.

Attacking wise we have the players. Velikonja should be in squad ahead of Gestede.

Defensively we need cover. McNaughton and Connolly can cover all positions but I think that whilst Taylor is a true 100%er he is not a top championship player and Naughts is a very good defender and great on bench his distribution stops him being a premier league player.

Better to lose £70m now than say £130m in a couple of years time though. There has to be a line in the sand.

Like I said, a smart businessman knows when to walk away and stop chasing his losses. I assume this raving lunatic is a smart businessman? ;)

100% agree Annis. Helguson is 35 and he's playing every game! He needs someone to share the load and Rudy is not the answer if we are going to go up automatically. Guidetti, Jerome, Jones, and Roberts appear the most likely candidates! Definitely need someone in before a busy December! If we don't then I can see us slipping away. A full back would be nice as well but a striker is a priority!

NJ, Very smart and he will cut his loses at some stage and then try to get them back by stripping our club of its assets, but thats if we fail to win promotion.
