How about 4-3-3?

What we lacked tonight in the middle of the park was bite. I hope we sell Cowie just so Malky cannot pick his son anymore.
Don't get me wrong I think Cowie is a good player but he is not up to the standard when it comes to top of the championship. He works his bullocks off and his fitness levels are top class but he just isn't good enough to be getting a starting spot in our midfield.

I think Kiss should be getting more game time especially after his impressive pre season, he would give us that little extra defensive cover to allow Whitts and Mutch to do their 'thing'. But to play these 3 this would mean we would have to adopt a 3 man midfield formation.

I would go with the 4-3-3 instead of 4-5-1 it offers more flexibility and more support to the centre forward. It also plays to our strengths as an attacking team. I also think it would be good because Mason and Velikonja I feel can both play in the centre, at the top of a 4-3-3. This also suits our wingers very nicely too. We would have four very good players trying to get those two winger spots either side of the centre forward. Bellamy and Conway one week, then Noone and Smith the next week. And I haven't even mentioned Kadeem Harris or Kim Bo Kyung possibly making a strong impact too...

Conway, Mason and Bellamy?
Tommy Smith, Helguson and Noone?
Harris, Velikonja, Bo Kyung?

Thought Cowie had a very good game
