this 451 debate away

no one has mentioned this yet so thought I'd throw it out there....

I can understand why MM tries to flood the midfield away from home (and by results based facts it's clearly not really working) but if we went 4-4-2 away from home wouldn't there be a potential to get torn apart?

What I'm getting at is at home, 99% of teams come here and look for a point. Over the years I've not seen many teams come to us & have a go. They generally play 5 across the middle and ask the question can you break us down?

So far this season we have (thankfully otherwise we wouldn't be joint top!) We can play 4-4-2 as the opposition in the main just sit and try & counter.

Would it be wise to play the same way away from home when the opposition are urged by the home support to be on the front foot - like we do when we are home? The games would be entertaining but can you really see the results change?

We take the risk of losing yes. I would not say torn apart because if the home team takes a lead against us they would most likely pack their midfield like the teams do at our place and invite us to attack them with the hope of catching us out on the break. So yes it is more of a risk that we will lose but that is happening with us now.

With the quality we have up front we should be using it away. I personally believe we are capable of taking the initiative away against most of these teams and would be more successful than we are now.

Were getting torn apart anyway so he may as well give 442 a go away from home.
