WIGAN AND BOLTON

Mon Oct 22, 2012 11:50 am

just looking on google maps and can't believe these two stadiums are only seven miles apart, for some reason thought it was twenty or thirty miles, just shows how close some clubs are in this area, got to be at least fifteen in a thirty mile circle at a guess.

Off the top of my head, Wigan, Bolton,Rochdale,Bury, Blackpool, Preston, Liverpool, Everton, Tranmere,Fleetwood, Burnley, Blackburn,Bury, Oldham, Stockport, Man U Man City, Stockport,Accrington Stanley,There must be a hell of a population around that area to feed that amount of clubs.

..... and I live smack bang between the two..

Actually I live in Wigan but live 2 minutes drive from the Reebok (Boltons Ground).

BIT OF ADVICE

Firstly Bolton play in Horwich - NOT BOLTON!!!

Ive already done 3 matches there for the papers this season. Allow yourself an extra half hour cos the Reebok Roundabout (as I call it) gets incredibly busy with traffic coming from Wigan, Preston and Manchester.

Getting out of the Car Parks is also a bit of a nightmare. Its very much like at the CCS - so allow yourself a good 30-45 minutes to get out.

Its not a problem for me as I will be back home by 10pm but for those travelling back to Cardiff the same night it might be prudent to get on a supporters bus :)

For those going by Train - Wigan North Western is the one you want (Cardiff to Crewe then Crewe to WiganNW) but getting from the train station to Horwich is as described above.

Food wise. They do lovely Peppered Steak Pies - and they come highly recommended :ayatollah:

It is mad and you wonder how they all survive. You got all the non league sides on top of that aswell, Macclesfield, Altincham etc.

And then add to that Huddersfield is only 18 miles away from Rochdale for example, closer than Cardiff is to loads of our fans who live in the Valleys etc

Leeds, the Sheffields etc just 30 miles across the pennines.

Huge cluster of clubs, derby heaven.
