HOW DID YOU COPE WHEN WE WERE SH*T?

Sun Oct 21, 2012 4:31 pm

We are top two of the championship but the world has ended because we lost to forest who at home with the players they have was always going to be tough.
Fans not happy about losing that's FAIR ENOUGH nobody wants to lose but f*cking hell some posters have already conceded failure to get promoted.
Others want malky out has he isnt good enough
So im wondering how the hell did these posters cope when we were getting beaten by the likes of rochdale , scarboro, barnet and walsall :| if being top two in a championship thats filled with some quality teams isnt good enough :?

A lot of them weren't about then.

We all hate the weekend, hate seeing other teams win when we lose but as u say we are 2nd, excellent position to be in.

The players would of been together today and fired up for Tuesday.

Four points from the next two games I'll be happy with :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm just really looking forward to Tuesday mate, we're going to drop points over the course of the season. We just have to get on with it.

The victories meant more to me in the 80s and 90s and the defeats hurt more. As I've grown up I still get the mood swings but personal events over past 3 years make me realize that football is only a game.

You're right, how i think back to some of the crap we had to put up with in the late 70's, early 80's and see where we are now, it's certainly changed days.

you get immune to it. we were a family club then (not in the modern day sense) and defeat was a deflation for everyone but we knew we were shit. but too be honest they were the happiest times at supporting cardiff, i feel sorry for those who never experienced those days. its shite now

Easy mate. I supported a different team. ;)

Playing Rochdale, when football was football, the F.A cup still meant something and the lads at the games wanted to be there.
The passion, chanting, banter got me through them golden days of watching City

sadly those days are over, like most sports including boxing, darts and snooker, they have lost the characters that made
the sport special.
Modern football is a joke compared to the real days of watching City

I often wonder this myself. I don't mind debates about players or formations etc but calling for malky's head after every defeat is ridiculous in my opinion.

I hated it when we lost and loved it when we won - just like now.

The main difference back then was that there was no way in my wildest dreams I could ever have imagined watching OUR club playing at Wembley 4 times in less than 5 years, or ever imagine seeing players like Craig Bellamy playing for us.

Still have to pinch myself to be honest.

The way we played at Forest in terms of generally being outplayed for the majority of the match reminded me of some of the old days when we travelled more in hope than anticipation. The difference now is the high expectations attached to being a Championship club with a quality squad and real financial backing.

As gutting as the result was, I still enjoyed the trip, the singing was loud and no City player could have felt that the fans weren't behind them. We'll have many highs and the occasional lows this season which will be in contrast to the many lows and occasional highs we experienced in the dungeon years. I know which I prefer....

im 19, in my first year of watching football we got promoted from Div3, so ive been lucky that most of my life Cardiff have been half decent, but I support my local team for a reason.. if i wanted to watch a team that wins everything id be a plastic and support man utd

Yes we were poor yesterday, but some people stood by me were acting like we would be relagated... no need to get worked up about it though

Its simply called being a true Cardiff City supporter ..... regardless of how good or bad the team are or which division they are in !

12th Man hit the nail on the head.

Most of them were not there and that is the answer.

There was a time when I went to 18 Away Games, not consecutively in the early 90's and we didn't win a single game.

That was just the way it was, sometimes we would go in front but more often than not we would get beat, I remember we beat
Mansfield then and I celebrated like a mad man watching Cardiff win away was unreal.

Your not wrong either, Tranmere away in the Cup was a big game back then and the likes of Oldham etc.

People still allowed to have constructive criticisms though, whatever league we are in, as long as its fair.

Exactly Miller we was shit and we knew it. And it did not matter if we played 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 or stuck all eleven on the Fooking goal line. End result we lost. But today is different times we have good players and a so say top Manager so expectations are 100% different. :ayatollah:

Lets cut all the shit here, most people following Cardiff away in those dark times were also into extra curricular activites, and to a lot those extra activites were more important than the score line on the pitch.

Besides, people moaned a lot then too, there wasnt a season gone by when the fans werent calling for the head of a chairman, manager or player.

Its just emphasised more now because of all the media tools we have - internet, radio, talk shows.etc
