TEAM FOR TUESDAY

Surely Turner will now return?

Also expect Mutch and Bellamy to be available. Would hope Noone starts too.

What has Turner done to be dropped? Noone has to start. Don't count your chickens with Bellers, the mans heart is not in it down the City so I don't give a hoot about him. As for Mutch, what does he bring to the team that Gunnarasson doesn't?

Not sure about Turner, but I expect Mutch, Noone and Bellamy to start at home.

He wasn't dropped. Got injured, and Connolly has done a good job when he came in. Think Turner should start now though. Solid.

Agree about Noone. What you say about Bellamy is bollocks, remember the last game he played for us against Birmingham?

Mutch is much more composed on the ball, Gunnarsson leaves too many gaps when he goes forward.

4-4-2
Turner might well come back in alongside Huds.

Midfield will go back to full strength in my opinion:
Smith Whitts Mutch Noone

... And CB39 back up top with HH

Bench:
Lewis, Connelly, Cowie, Gunnar, Conway, Mason, Rudy

Turner - cb with Hudson
Connoly - rb ...Kev to the bench
Kiss or Cowie - lb ...Taylor like Kev isn't good enough.

My team except Connolly for KeV at RB, hard to second guess what Malky will pick, but. I would hope for a positive reaction after yesterday.

Bouncebackability!!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think kevs best performances for us has left back. Then I'd give cowie a go at right back. Won't happen I know worth a thought though

Funnily enough I've been thinking that Cowie could easily be converted to full back. He has a good engine and he's more physical than kev and Taylor. I think it would be worth a try. :ayatollah:

Marshall

Turner
Taylor

Noone
Witts
Mutch/Gunnar (if Mutch unfit?)
Smith

Bellamy
Helguson

No doubt about the team for me, had to be that.

Why drop Helguson?? Three goals in two games.

From Malky's press conference this morning it sounds like Bellamy is fit to start tomorrow but Mutch is 50-50.

From the players available and who's been playing recently I can see Kim Bo Kyung being out of the squad.

Not sure whether Noone or Conway will start to be honest. CN did well when he came on Saturday from what I've seen on CCFC Player so may well be him who gets the nod.

Rudy seams to be being preferred to Velikonja at the moment.

Turner may well come back in alongside Huds or might Malky stick with Conneley?

Subs: Marshall, Kiss/Mutch, Kimbo, Conway, Mason, Helguson/Velikonja, McNaughton

1. Keeper... Marshall. Didn't command his 6 yrd box at all. Surprised that he was more frightened of crosses, especially those at pace than Alexander. To blame for many of City's defensive hesitancies and uncertainties particularly at corners/set pieces.

2. Defenders... McNaughton and Taylor simply not good enough. Kev still very poor going forward and distribution terrible. Taylor, unlike Kev, can cross a ball, but is defensively weak especially when being run at and made to turn.
(replace Kev with Connolly, Taylor with Cowie)

3. Midfield... Malky wants a defensive midfielder. We have a couple with decent engines and both strong in the tackle. Mutch or Kiss? Kiss perhaps deserves his chance. Either of them can sit in front of the back 4 to break up play when defending.
Stop playing Whitts so deep, use as God intended as an attacking midfielder.
Noone and Smith as the wide men. Impressed with both of them on Saturday.

4. Forwards... Our shots on target stats show as FACT that Helguson as a lone striker does not work. He needs support, so give him either Bellamy (if fit) or use the pace of Etien or Mason. For me, Helguson to start, but be subbed on the hour or sooner, to give some fresh legs. Kimbo to replace either Noone or Smith.

Of course none of the above will ever happen.
Lose at home and a few peoples patience with MM will be truly tested.
Never dull following City is it?
