When you buy, look for community fish, these are fish that can live together in the same tank, keep your tank clean by doing partial water changes every two wks, and cleaning the gravel at the same time.

Angel fish are bastards. Not friendly to other fish at all

I've got a 240 litre one set up in my living room, lots of plants.
I find them very easy to keep, I just change about 10-20% of the water every 1-2 weeks.
Have a UV filter to keep the water clean and use a magnet cleaner to clean the glass, only takes a couple of mins every now and again.

Used to have a fresh water aquarium years ago, getting the right balance of lighting used to be a problem for me, too much light encourages algae growth on the sides of the tank, although a couple of sucker loaches used to keep that down. Angel fish are okay but don't get on with most other fish, and it was a pain in the arse keeping the tank clean etc. but these days there may be more gadgets that make the job easier.
On saying all this, it is very relaxing watching the fish when it is all set up.
